I am sorry bro, but ur thread doesn't make any sense to me. U said u "cleaned" the bird dropping. Then u mentioned u used "mother's scratch remover" to clean the dropping.
bird droppings don't chip the paint off bro. they leave very light marks on the paint which easily go away by slight compounding. The paint surface thats been properly waxed and buffed doesn't show the slightest of the marks even.
What I guess is that u used an incorrect amount of scratch remover with an incorrect form of application and got ur car's skin exposed.
U have got a very limited amount of paint on ur car's surface that u can play with bro. IMO, u should have taken ur car to a professional detailer.
My car's are washed and waxed like once in a week and there are several bird droppings that stay on the surface monday through saturday. This has been for like 7 years to a certain car in my garage.
this NEVER happened that bad to me. :)
