Thanx for your comments!.The last pic is of LIDO MALL and not IDEB. I always get criticized for not captioning my pics and i wanted to make sure i got it right this time. It is hard work, though, as compared to just posting pics!.
Ask brother Asif "Alias" who is in Bangalore and he will probably agree that traffic can be a nightmare at times and the infrastructure is sorely tested. Enter an IT Park and everything is world class. The nice areas in Bangalore are up to snuff too, but that is not denying the fact that like every city in the world there are grungy areas too.
All things considered, Bangalore ain't what "Nannu" says it was, a garden city, but is now a bustling commercial and intellectual capital hub. Some things have to change, i guess.

Re: Bangalore nightlife...I am disappointed. Sure, there's Hard Rock Cafe, Ruby Tuesday's et alia but somehow i find the bar scene in Chennai and Pondicherry better than Bangalore!!.Even dance clubs for that matter. "Speed" in Chennai is as good a dance club as anywhere in the world can be and there are atleast 3 more i can recommend. IMO, Mumbai has the best nightlife in India. It rocks there.

You have asked a very pertinent question re: power/electricity in India. The answer is surprisingly , yes, in my opinion. Power outages are rare nowadays. Once India opened it's economy to the MNC's it is the corporate world that really calls the shots. The Govt. manages power resources quite well in India. It could be worse!!.The majority is generated through coal and India has the world's largest coal reserves, the rest through hydro-electric resources and atomic power. For eg., the electricity for the city of Madras(Chennai) is supplied from MAPS(Madras Atomic Power Station). There are grids that supply surplus power from one state to another and the Govt. has also privatized power generation , so many MNC's are in the game too. I know "Nannu" will explain it all in one sentence , so i'll say no more!!.
