thanks for the info.These old bedfords are still running fine!How the body is maintained?are the spares for these bedfords easily available?

I did some research on Bedford Lorries of India.learned that Hindustan Motors(Ambassador car wale) manufactured bedford lorries in India under the name "Hindustan Bedford".Later during end 1970s they manufactured Hindustan-Isuzu trucks as well.Premier(fiat 1100 manufacturer aka bombay city taxis) of bombay also made many "Fargo" trucks as well.anyways ,some pictures from India.all thanks to flickr.com.first hind-bedford bus is from shillong,meghalaya state.

if only these bedford guys would realize that there are so many things they coudl do to their trucks which would make them MUCH more fuel efficient, faster and realiable.

like removing that uside down spoiler above the cabin.

@BHAILOGE:wow!Nice buses.Here in India ,many models are available.but ,most still prefer ashok leyland or a tata.Leyland offers a smoother ride.Ashok Leyland is making Engines for Hino,I think.ofcourse ,there are indian made volvo,mercedes benz models.but what is the use?they costs almost 65lakhs to 1 crore Indian Rupees!while a Leyland/tata/eicher/swaraj tourist Air suspension bus can be built under 10-15lakhs Indian Rupees.Most of them are sleeper coaches(almost like double deckers) I usually travels from Pune to Bangalore or from Cochin to Bangalore in these Air Buses ,mostly Volvo B7R(recently B9Rs multi-axle models) or Ashok Leyland Air Conditioned/Video Coaches.

they always block the roads as they r too old.so parts problem.
they have not much power as compare to new one's.
but they are the backbone of transportation in pakistan.

truck drivers are rash in India as well.but Volvo/Benz/Man/Tatra truck drivers are given training by experts and they almost are generally drive safe.
BUT.. Leyland/TATA/Eicher trucks are driven rash especially from states like Kerala.although the speed is limited to 60kmph ,many a times they go well over 80-90kmph on narrow roads as well.with Buses ,this can be much more rasher.

Same here @malabar. Bus drivers and truck driver rash but Daewoo bus drivers are not allowed so they do it quite smoothly.
About bedford art, its really awesome. Btw are u interested in the pics about how they manufacture and how they do it ill get them for u. All ive to go just 15kms drive from my home

does dodge,fargo,chevy and other old models still used?
Note: I know that Pakistan has modern trucks, My interest in this vintage commerical vehicles. hence, asking.
