Well, BMW vs. MB is more or less like Toyota vs. Honda.
As per my experiance and observations which is quite limited though, I believe that ther is nothing on this planet in comparision with a 560 SEC or SL 730 or a CLK-GTR. Build quality of even an entry-level E-Klasse is out standing. 7-Series or Audi A8 needs to go a long way to compete with the aura and grace of a S Class Sedan. Mercedes is a symbol of a sophisticated aristocrate.
Whereas, E-30 ///M Evo is one unmatched motor sports legend. Same goes for E-36 and E-46 ///M aswell. 3.0CSL is more then just a superior handling machine on the track. M5 since almost more then a decade is a benchmark for a sports sedan. McLaren guys are running a BMW motor under the hood of world's finest super car. BMW can be well described as an utmost driving pleasure.
But, and thats not an ordinary but or a butt, BMW needs to spend atleast a decade to compete with MB. And MB needs to build C-Class as of the same build quality as of a 3-Series which outclasses a C-Class in most of the attributes. And BMW's marketing executives should stop marketing bimmers for gays(No Offence to any gay). And MB should design proper sedans like as of 70's, 80's and upto mid 90's instead of those Bangle tuned design cues.
My vote for MB.
Though I own a Bimmer. And its a sheer driving experiance.
