the only hint I have is that the chanay or bhaji of that particular shop was quite thick with a salan like feel not like chanay in patla pani

There are around 4 halwa puri shop near masjis wazir khan , If you can provide some hint of name , I can tell you exact location

They don't have out of world taste , but we should try them at least once . I almost eat das kulcha on every Sunday.
Das kulcha is dish of the mughal era and only one family in the whole world know how to make them (So you can only taste das kulcha in Pakistan or India , As same family relative doing das kulcha business in india as well)

I would like to suggest the following!

1. Veranda Bistro (opposite Generations, Gulberg) - amazing quality that too in a Buffet
2. La Atrium (next to Chen one gulberg) - their Brunch on Sunday is a must try!
3. The Noodle House (M. Kasuri Road, Gulberg) - beef tender loins must try!
4. Heng Chang (quality went down over the last few years, but you dont get starch filled solidifying soups) - try their special soup - very sprouty
5. Dumpukht (PC) - soups in mutton yakhni are amazing
6. Grill and Bake - Model Town Extension/Faisal Town near Jinnah Hospital - seriously good quality nans, parathas and grilled meat stuff (kebabs, tikkas etc). Desi Mahol but amazing quality. A must try

the best tuka tuk in lahore is in mini market samanabad. no comparison of tuka tuk at all

Oreo Chillata from Cinnabon is yum yum yummy!!!
Chocolate shake from Butlers Chocolate Cafe is damn good as well!!

Yogen Fruz has the the best froyo in Lahore yet!
TCBY froyo comes at a close second!
Tutti Frutti IMO is over rated, Yogen Fruz and TCBY are much better!

Sweet Affairs Cafe has some nice gelato ice cream!
English Tea House offers one of the best bread pudding!!
Chocolate Bar have some nice Molten Lava Cake, but IMO Butlers Chocolate Cafe is better!
Gelato's Affair is so so IMO!

Had iftari at Splice Restaurant which is owned by Shahid Afridi and boy I was disappointed, very bad taste, not recommended at all...
also had ifari at Boulevard Bar & Grill, although the food is good, but its on the expensive side....
the best iftari I had in terms of taste and price was at Xiwang.....decor is so so, but food is awesome!!

other than that some recommended restaurants in Lahore are Freddy's Cafe (great decor with great food), Bistro 201 (amazing views from top of JS Bank Building), Cafe Aylanto (although its quite expensive), Cosa Nostra (visited by many celebrities as well), Arizona Grill (yummy steaks), Heng Chang (great Chinese food), The Noodle House (noodle variety from nearly every country), Peeru's Cafe (quite expensive but food is great), Ciro's Pomodoro (amazing Italian food), Cafe Zouk (their desserts are awesome), Gun Smoke (their burgers are mouth watering delicious), Nandos (no need to say anything for it, just love it), Chez Nur (quite reasonable but not as great as other mentioned restaurants)

on the desi side I would recommend Dhaba Restaurant (very reasonable food), Dera Restaurant (traditional Pakistani environment, great atmosphere), Fazal-e-Haq Dera (traditional Pakistani environment with live music and great food), Fort View Restaurant (great views of Badshahi Masjid and Minar-e-Pakistan from rooftop), Al Fazal Restaurant (love their seekh kabab), Gourmet Restaurant (i guess is k liye to naam hi kafi hai), Salt n Pepper Village (great decor on village theme with great food), Yasir Broast (delicious chicken broast), Bundu Khan (nice desi food), Ziafat (not as great as others but still not bad), Bombay Chowpatty (love their butter chicken), Olive Grill (all food cooked in olive oil, very reasonable)

fast food lovers should head to well known places like Fatburger, Hardees, KFC, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Domino's Pizza, Subway, Dunkin Donuts, or local chains like Fri Chicks, One Potato Two Potato! Also I love pizza from Al Minal Restaurant (very reasonable). Word on the street is that Johnny Rockets and Burger King are opening soon as well!

visited some more places in Lahore or places that I missed in my last post!

had huge 21" New York style pizza from Manhattan Bites and my God it was huge! Taste was great as well, I could barely eat 2 slices, recommended for all pizza lovers!!
another local shop is Hot Bite Pizza, their pizza's are really reasonable and u get 1 free as well, taste is yummy!! Recommended if u are tight on budget!
also visited Sam Restaurant, although its cheap but their service is really slow, had zinger burgers there!

Salt n Pepper Faisal Town branch is a good alternative for Gourmet Restaurant right next to it!
Salt n Pepper Liberty branch is good, decor is a bit out dated, but their burgers are awesome!
Salt n Pepper Cafe at Sukh Chan Wellness Club is a nice spot for al fresco dining, visit it atleast once!

Karachi Silver Spoon has undoubtedly the best paratha rolls in the city! They have renovated their interior as well!
Karachi Red Rock comes at a close second!! Both are awesome tbh!
Hot n Spicy is not bad, but not good either! Its their first branch in Lahore, chinese is better than desi food.

Coc* n Bull have some great shawarma in Lahore, their burgers are nice as well. (PakWheels wont let me post the real name Its murgha n bail LOL)

Marble Stone Creamery have some good ice cream, but they need to renovate their interior! Its a local chain and its name is a portmanteau of Marble Slab Creamery and Cold Stone Creamery LOL.
