Cooper tyres 265 although now I feel I should've gone for the 285s. not a fan of the rims either !

265 is just fine it is the 75 part which is not quite right, though it will work fine...ideally it should have been 265/85R16

Boss purely for my knowledge, what difference will the change in aspect ratio have i.e. 75 vs. 85

After reading all the posts, from my experience I can tell you that a 1FZ-FE is a big NO in terms of practicality. I have kept one in my 80 Series and its a nightmare not just in terms of daily fuel average, but getting reliable parts in Pakistan is a problem. I had to procure an original fuel pump and timing chain from Dubai as the ones here are a waste of time, effort and money.

Now looking at your other options I can tell you that the 1HZ, 13BT and 1KZTE are bullet proof engines and will never let you down in terms of performance, economy etc. The 13BT is an older engine, but very tough and reliable. The 1KZTE is amazing, I am currently using one on my Hilux Tiger and its definitely packs a punch and is giving me around 9km/ltr. 1HZ again is a great piece of work.

I would recommend that you stay away from 3F and 1FZ engines, you will regret it. Stick with any of the following:
1HZ
13BT
1KZTE

You are going to be running a 13BT with H55F
265/75R16 happens to be 31.6 inch tall to be precise. With the setup you plan to run, you might feel that your rig is a little low geared.

I am running 31s and now I feel that I should have gone for 33 just to make it more Highway friendly.

265/85R16 would be a little over 33 inches, which will improve the setup, in my mind...anyways its your call, and now you have the tyres, so I believe you cant do much...

BTW hope you don't mind me asking how much did the registration cost you...

Brothers I just bought an imported rkr, 1989 model with 1hd engine for around 13. Interior is a lil weak. Suspension also needs some work. What do u think how is the buy?
