I have a question regarding the oil change in my Passo 2013
I recently changed my oil from Shell Helix 10w-40 to 5w30, will this hurt the engline of my car in anyway?

If engine health is perfect in all respects, there is no smoke, compression is great, you are not facing any oil reduction issues, etc. then YES! 5w-30 would be a Great choice, provided that 5w-30 meets following requirements: Fully Synthetic From some reputed brand (Total, Shell, Kixx, etc.) 100% genuine and original (Most Important Factor) Meets API SN / SN Plus, and / or ILSAC GF5 criteria

My personal recommendation would be Total Quartz 9000 Future series in 5w-30. Its best for bucks!

What about in summers where temperatures easily reach 40+ C. Can 5w30 handle the heat?

Of course YES! Summers Vs Winters are old myths which do not work now in new, modern engines.

Now In US, Toyota is even recommending 0w-16 in some of their newer engines for round the year use.

Hello,
I have Toyota Passo 2013 which has milage of over 70,000 kms. The car jerks when started in the morning. I understand that the engine is cold but i think there is some kind of transmission issue as the car is jerky in the speeds of 10-30 km/h. Should i go for a change of transmission oil or something else. If transmission oil change is recommend, then which oil?

Well... If transmission oil has not been changed in recent times, then it must be changed ASAP.

I believe, Toyota CVTF-TC is the recommended transmission oil for this CVT, still transmission oil filler bolt can guide best about the CVTF to be poured in (provided the bolt is original).

If "TC" is written on the filler bolt, then you need to pour Toyota CVTF-TC in it. If "FE" is written on the filler bolt, then you need to pour Toyota CVTF-FE in it.

As an alternative, you may also consider pouring https://www.caltex.com/content/caltex/pk/en/motorists/products/havoline-fully-synthetic-cvt-fluid.havoline-cars.transmission-fluids.html in it. It meets both requirements (i.e. TC and FE).

I poured this CVTF in my Vitz, and AL HAM DU LILLAH, its working absolutely fine.

On a side note:

I do not know which engine oil you are pouring in your ride, however, if engine health is perfect and you are not facing any oil reduction issues, then your first choice should be Total Quartz 9000 Future series 5w-30 only!

Change oil + genuine, OEM Oil filter after every 5,000 Kms / 06 months, whichever comes first!

Next choice should be 10w-30 by Caltex Havoline. ZIC 10w-40 should be the last choice.

After changing CVTF, you may get your transmission checked from some good garage, and also get your vehicle scanned via OBD tool, to get any / all fault codes. Remedial actions will be taken accordingly.

You may take your car to Burraq Autos, Chaudary Market, Glass Factory Road, Chah Sultan, Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Hopefully, your issue will get resolved, IN SHA ALLAH:
