Best n safe Payment mode from seller pt of view while selling one's car

i bought two second hand cars... once i took Seller to His/My bank (By chance we both have account in same bank and same branch) Transfered the money to his account via cheque... which was done by Bank in 15 mints... he checked his balance and handed over the car to me than and their..

2nd time i made the bank draft on name of the seller.... went to his bank .. deposited the Draft in his account.... (he was not there, he asked me to meet the manager). Manager got the deposit slip and stuff and depositied the draft in his account.. verified him on phone... at 7 pm ... i went to his house.. picked up the car.... and got other relevant documents signed.

Btw wot r da documents required/provided while buying/selling (max 7-8 and minimum 2 years older) a second hand car n how to get da documents verified n from where ?

Safest method: Get money transfered to ur a/c online then hand over the car & the return file to the buyer.
Make a sale agreement on 100 rs stamp paper. Such a printed stamp paper is easily available from any stamp vendor inside court premises.

I hope nothing has changed in the past decade since this thread was opened. Is online transfer still safe when selling car or should I insist on pay order ? What’s the best way to verify that pay order is genuine ?

@AbbasJin I would say pay order is still the safest. Just verify it from bank first.

Online transfer is also relatively safe but large amounts above 1-2 million are not possible in most cases. Plus there is a risk of seller disputing the transaction later leading to issues.

NO NO !! CALL THAT PERSON IN THE BANK ITSELF !! Get everything verified and sorted right there and then. That's all there is to it !!
