Nothing...Don't put in to this matter...
3001d4 is an spl sub...Is your friend going for spl setup...If yes,then this sub is best for him...BTW,Which amp he going to use with this beast..?

Bro 3001 or 3002 subs are pure SPL subs, they are not for everyone, they DO NOT compliment the music or the other drivers in your car, they are just meant to move lots of air thus creating lots of spl. These subs are only useful in a certain frequency bandwidth, say 5 to 10 hz + - around the tuning frequency above or below that its dead.

But if you are into listening hip hops, raps, low bass spl tracks, then you just might like it.

Yes for everyday listening and a sub which compliment all types of music and wud go loud too, the above recommendations are good
