According to my experience of Hall Road lhr, there is no such thing as "American JBL" in the market these days. And if you think that you've bought one in Rs.10 to 20ks, then you obviously've been screwed! Cause they are way too expensive.
Choice of components depends on how deep your pockets are. As a piece of advice, I recetly bought, after extensive testing, a budget kenwood woofer called KFC-3011, and found it satisfying within its limits. Sony Xplod woofers are nothing but crap.
Also keep in mind the definition of good sound is "Loud and Clear" and "Sound, not Noise". It also depends on ur "Mood for Music" e.g. If you listen to Lata then a couple of 6x9s will do, but if ur prefer some "feel", then sky(actually the space in ur car) is the limit.
Then again some chaps go after a "Solid and Tight" beat, and others like sort of long "Air Bass". its also effects your choice.
