LOL --- well qasim bhai had planned to go with two chains on the front tyres initially -- but last minute change was the addition of two more on the rear wheels... which happened to be studded too ... hence resulting into a lot more traction on the rear wheels with a lot less steering control on the front ......
qasim bhai on every turn had the steering turned completely in opposite direction in the hope that EVO would turn while me getting frustrated why he is doing that! Finally, thinking he might not know where we have to go, i told him,"bhai right jana hey ooooohhhh right jana hey yaaar!!!! $%@#$%
got qasim bhai's reply,"OOHH $@#$@#$ ko right hi mora hua hey !!!!!"
realizing that just scared the ____ out of me, knowing we had yet to do the incline ... which by the way was the easiest part of the whole run compared to what was yet to come ....
well on the way down, EVO (the donkey decided to go the other way without prior notice ... hehehe ) felt it should go where the jeeps are parked ... and upon a lot of steering negotiation by saidhi finally EVO's A$$ came back to track but in anger, it ran over a directional tyre janj had placed for drivers to show where to go,
After that ... well not so smooth sailing as I so wrongfully thought .... I managed to muster up enough power and courage to raise my hand and point while mumbling, "Qasim bhai udher jana hey" .... as if he didnt know!
Approaching the outer side of the circle,EVO, again decided it had to go right towards the edge and see whats down there .... and i felt my guts coming in my mouth ... thankfully saidhi managed to bring EVO back to its senses
finally on the last run ... the minute my guts started going back to there normal place ... EVO just stopped listening at all! as if the steering was just for show there ... instead of turning right ... it just dashed straight for the snow that had no tracks ... Now my fear was, "this is unexplored area .. what if there is a ditch there ??? .. what if there is a huge mountain rock there .. and the sweat on my **** was back!!" ...
Finally EVO saw some jeeps on the left and decided to go for them ... and luckily the finish line was right next to them .... and just before the jump we found some grip and saidhi, not missing the moment, just negotiated enough that no matter where EVO's a$$ was , the face was directing towards the finish line
one Heave ..... one Jump ... EVO not missing the Finsh Line pole ... we crossed the finishing line ... stopping just a few inches from RMR's Prado ...
With all that going on in my head and Saidhi I think must have turned the steering a thousand times ... we both felt we have spent more than good 2 to 3 minutes ... fighting with EVO ...but joy of joys and surprisingly we were told that our time was 1m:20s ....
Well personally! I thought we had been there for hours ... :-# ... after all that, we stood there -- ate the left over of mars bar, saidhi had a winning smile while i was trying to smile after all that i had been through ...
The lesson I learned ... Never loose hope and keep on trying ... for what EVO was doing to Saidhi, it was his shear commitment that brought us the joy of the first prize ...
but I will never forget these 1 and a half minutes of struggle ... i can still close my eyes and do the track all over again anytime
@EVO ..... VROOOOM VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
