Your priority should be not to take out bike .. But if its necessary than what i suggest is to goto service station and ask them to spray diesel on its lower parts (Avoiding tank seat and etc) .. It actually prevents water from seeping into joints of the bike and un necessay chun chan chun chan.. Also it prevents rusting.. As the bikes have low qualities nowadays and gets rusted easily..

Well i had been through your RX115 detailing thread. You have done your job but the thing which was missing there is WD40

The problem with coastal areas likely Karachi is the combination of salt and humidity. It keeps the salt active. Factor in the elevated temps (for every 10 deg F a chemical reaction doubles in effect) and you have a perfect environment for dissolving metal. If you spray with WD-40 you presumably displace the moisture so the salt should not be as active as it could be. You are going to get salt on everything because salt is all over the roads as well.

When you get back from your trip, would give the scoot a very wet washing, perhaps even using a pressure washer to make sure you have all the salt dust out of the nooks and crannies. You should also put a couple coats of wax on the paint as well because salt can get in thru the pores in the paint and work on the metal underneath. Sealing those pores with wax will help prevent rusting bikes.

Its just like 7CF. Spray 2,3 coats of WD-40 on the lower parts of bike and chassis and then spray a bit on a micro fiber cloth and rub it on fuel tank, suspensions, fenders, handlebars and rims.

Some Instructions Regarding
"Scratch Removing"

Park the motorcycle in a shaded area away from sunlight. Allow the bike to completely cool. Spray the motorcycle with water from a garden hose to rinse off loose grime. Do not spray water into the exhaust pipe.

Spray motorcycle cleaner onto the affected paint. Follow the manufacturer's directions on the product's label. Wipe the paint with a microfiber rag to remove bug debris, bird droppings and other road grime.

Spray the painted surface with water from the garden hose to wash away the soapy solution and grime. Allow the bike to thoroughly air-dry.

Apply shoe polish paste to a microfiber applicator pad. Wipe the pad over the paint to fill the scratch with polish. Use a color of polish that contrasts with the paint for visibility purposes.

Fill a plastic bowl with one cup of cold water. Add three drops of liquid dish soap to the water. Thoroughly mix the solution.

Place ultra-fine 3000-grit wet/dry sandpaper on a rubber sanding block. Dip the sanding block in the bowl of soapy water.

Hold the sanding block at a 60-degree angle to the scratch. Slowly sand along the length of the scratch using short, light strokes. Frequently dip the sanding block in the soapy water to keep the sandpaper wet. Continue to sand until the contrasting marks vanish.

Dry the sanded surface with a terry cloth towel. Apply a bead of polishing compound along the length of the scratch. Buff the painted surface with a microfiber cloth using circular motions until the polishing compound is completely dissolved.

Spray the painted surface with water from the garden hose to rinse away any remaining compound residue. Thoroughly dry the paint with a clean terry cloth towel.

Apply swirl mark eliminator compound directly to the painted surface. Follow the manufacturer's directions on the product's label. Buff the painted surface with a clean microfiber cloth using circular motions until the compound is completely dissolved.

Apply auto paste wax to a three-inch wax applicator pad. Coat the painted surface with an even layer of wax. Allow the wax to dry for the amount of time recommended by the wax manufacturer.

Wipe away the wax residue with a clean terry cloth towel. Buff the painted surface with a microfiber cloth using circular motions.

WD-40 is way to expensive to be used in routine.... Simple solution to keep bike away from will be:

Go to service station and ask him to spray diesel on it.. all over.. now afterwards wash the bike using shampoo..

What it actually do is it soften the joints of bike and protect them from rusting.. And you wipe out the excess diesel by bathing the bike.. And as you will be applying chrome polish, wax and vice versa on exposed parts.. So its almost like 80-90 percent protection against rusting

Lack of gloss on the painted surface can be caused by several factors:
Oxidation
Scratches
Lack of a Protective Coating
Oxidation is the dulling of the painted surface that occurs when the sun’s ultraviolet rays deplete the paint’s natural oils and resins. Scratches prevent light from reflecting uniformly, which limits gloss. In order to restore gloss, the oxidation and scratches must be removed. Once the surface is free of oxidation and scratches and any swirl marks caused by compounding are removed, a wax or paint sealant should be applied. It will protect the paint against further oxidation, level the surface and intensify the reflection of light.

Thanks Auto, yes you are right it is hard and a tough job and only experts can do this job, even i myself never tried this but now am thinking to do it as i have a spare tank lying in my junkyard so utilizing that for this experiment is not a bad idea.

R1, brother the thread has indeed gained interest.......ummm reagarding diesel sprays an stuff, it will play with yer rubber parts...please avoid it, the WD-40 solution is much better........I suggest you guys start reading the highlighted points written in the main post of the car care and detailing dreams thread, learn how to properly wash and wax the bike etc.......attached are some images of a two wheeler we did,I`d like for you guys to look at the difference detailing can do.
