if the CDI, ring,pistons are not blown out then you only need to do cosmetics changes / clutch plates .. bro .. it will be a treat in 1.3KK. ,

Maximum kharacha I can imagine should be around 20k, if no big problem like CDI Unit or Ring/Piston/boring are working already.

are these 97' Model ? if yes then I am pretty sure these must be good inside, not like those 91 and 89 models which where totally scrapped

these bikes are probably still standing in that junk yard. I talked to a mechanic and he mentioned them. they are missing cdi units, which will cost ~30k plus the cost to restore it.

CDI unit cost less then 10 k bro if you ship it from ebay and has 60$ tax that only cumalative to 600~RS so its a fitto deal to buy from internet.. instead of banging head with kabariyas..

restoration usually cost 30~k RS ... if you want a GS in GOod condition let me know in under 100k restorable and n 1.5lac running and restored wil complete silent engine...

Cant you install CDI unit of some other 2 cylinder bike or it has to be from the GS500 or else the engine wont start.

Yes ofcourse you can! even in the last GS I sold out I had to use a GSX four point CDI using only two point for two cylinders and leaving the other two stray.

Then why the hell are they asking 30k for a CDI unit? I mean we are talking about GS500......thats the most popular bike in over 400cc category here. considering the sisuation spares shudnt be that hard to find.....then why the junkies are asking 30k for a unit CDI?

^ No dear the CDI for GS500 will not cost 30k. It should be max for around 12k~15k.

there were around 10-12 bikes near Kharak Nalla while going to Karim Block Market from Multan Road at kharrak nalla. don't have much info about bikes so didn't bother asking. they were in 50-50 condition from looks. all had seats removed like they were stored in.

I also went to that workshop last week. and my comment about the mechanic over there told me about the two gs500 bikes and their missing CDI units. and according to him, those bikes were not worth more than 60-70k.

At his workshop he had several big bikes but didn't have any for sale.
