Gearing up again IA this summer towards North.

Please compare performance of both bikes in the north.

Refer to excel sheet i posted for fuel usage, it was pretty much same. For performance, the YBZ was very good. Obviously the GS is a much rugged machine but the Yamaha did not lag behind much. Considering the fact that I was on 150cc and I weigh 93kgs and my friend used a 125cc and he weighed 120kg, still the only difference we could see was climbing the Babusar top on our way back. It reached some 10 minutes after me. But the bikes took it like champions. No complaints whatsoever.

What essential things did you guys take with you for a tour on a bike and did you use any seat cushions?

Well, let me list down the essentials.
A tube, extension cable, 2person tent, clutch and race cables, rope, 9x12ft tarpaal/nylon sheet, chargers and a soft cusion for the seat.

Other than that, my DSLR hardly came to use as the bag was mostly packed under the waterproofing during bike rides so mobile came in handy., Tripod, clothes, (warm inners, a jacket, warm cap, etc) other than summer clothes. Panadol,Brixen and Flagyl tablets.

What we did not take: Airpump, puncture kit. I personally think that is waste because in case of such incident, one can easily take help from any passing truck/Suzuki to take a drop till nearest petrol station. That sounds risky, but is actually very easy solution.

What soft cushion did you use for the seat and where did you get it?

Brother i just took one out of my cat's bed seriously. No particular brand any random comfortable cushion will do.
