The show in 2009 was a wash out due to rain. 2010 however proved to be a better year weather wise. It was bright and sunny and the turn out, understandably, was better. The venue is a paved car park and different from the lush green fields that Billo and I are accustomed to but hey, we don't complain. The fact that there is no shade to escape the sun bothers me slightly as I don't particularly need a tan anyway.
My son accompanied me to the show this once and he shared my "burden" of explaining the truck art that most people had seen for the first time. I was interviewed by a news reporter who published an article the next day. Joyce e-mailed me a link to the online copy of the newspaper after the show but I seem to have lost it but will share whenever I find it again.
They say time flies when you are having fun. They are right. We were there for almost 7 hours and there wasn't a dull moment. Tons of pictures were taken, Abdullah guessed the correct number of jelly beans in the jar and won the prize..the jar with the jelly beans! And Billo won the Best in her category. Abdullah received the trophy and we drove home tired but happy. The normally serious officers at the border didn't ask anything about what we were bringing in after we showed them the trophy and waved us in.
Abdullah had been clicking away with the camera and most of the pictures you see here were taken by him. I had installed the whitewalls just a few days back and it was their first real road test. They looked super cool for the pictures but were noisy on road and small chunks were breaking off as they came in contact with the pavement at corners. They remained on the car for a total of two weeks (and that too because I didn't find time to remove them sooner)
Enjoy the pictures..
