Lovely crew cab, I am guessing its a 64-67 by the looks of front indicator lenses and doglegs. Whats that cylinderical accessory on the roof rack? A swamp cooler?

B/w I wonder if you ever came across any Binz on any of the shows? Binz are getting rarer by every passing day. And I think there wont be many to turn up on the shows. But I may be wrong.

I have yet to see one in 'flesh' (metal) myself.

What you see on the roof rack is a fire extinguisher.

I just thought that this discussion should also be a part of the Original Billo Thread. Therefore have consolidated the whole debate here as well for the members who do not frequently access VCCCP thread and thus may not know of this debate.

thank you Reezvaan. I posted on the VCCCP thread to have access to a larger audience who might have faced a similar situation. But you are right. This also needs to be shared with the people who are following Billo's journey in North America

You did the right thing by posting your question at the VCCCP thread. By all definitions VCCCP thread is by far the most visited thread here on PW after the Jeep/4x4 club. So there are more chances that you get the precise answer you are looking for. I hope we could find a way around all the despair to bring Billo back home.

But whatever we have to do, we have to be quick as time is running out and I am dead sure that you wouldn't want to leave her back there even if its with a "good new home". Such pieces of history better not be left abroad just because the lame government policies wont allow them to be shipped back in and that too without giving any good reason.

the sad bit is that it is a Pakistani car, duty and customs have been paid once when the car was imported....just because it went out of Pakistan...

I am an eternal optimist so I am hoping there would be some sane head in the department who'd see the logic. I am waiting to hear from Mohsin re. my position as a Canadian trying to visit

...after all, a lot of tourists did visit Pakistan (I don't know if they still do)in their caravans and other vehicles. I know of at least one such person who was driving a Vanagon Westfalia and was camped in Gilgit for a year or so... Maybe in a year I'd leave anyway

For whatever its worth, I got all the documents that I have, including the bill of lading and export papers, NOC's etc. attested by the Pakistan consulate in Toronto. I have mentioned Billo's details on my TR form too which too has been duly attested.

Let me know, if nothing else I will file the petition in Supreme Court of Pakistan it’s an asset and pride for the country which should be honored instead of being dishonored this way!

After giving the matter a lot of thought i have decided NOT to bring Billo back to Pakistan right now. I would like to come to Pakistan first and confirm if I can bring her back without a hitch. I just can't take the risk of her stuck at the port and with the present situation in Karachi, I don't think I'll be able to camp out in Karachi to resolve the matter.

However it may be for the better... When I am in Pakistan I can explore the possibilities of making a documentary and drive with Billo from Toronto to Islamabad next year. These are still just plans and I will share with you any developments along the way.

Eid Mubaraq to you and your family ......... down in the South, we had a fun Eid. Took the day off, went for namaz, kids played with friends in the mosque grounds, ate lunch ... I guess the community is active in this regards as almost everyone showed up despite the high temps!

I can offer safe keeping for billo. No costs. I'll even come to collect her from Detroit MI. When are you available for dropping it? Dont' take billo back. I'm bringing "neelo" over to keep her company
