Body changed SUV is legal or illegal?

As i have already written this on one of the top posts that, as per customs act, the body change rule has nothing to do with the model. Even if you put a down model body on a newer model frame, it's illegal. They just see if the body was imported without the tax being paid or not. You put a 92 model jimny on a 2000 model potohar frame and you'll be caught as it's illegal.

Legally speaking it is illegal to put kabli spare parts in your car because they are smuggled without paying tex. Bhai aap phir confuse kar rahey ho jimny aur potohar ka kah kar . 92 jimny par agar 92 jimny ya same shape jimny ke body daalo *** to you will not get into any kind of trouble neither will your car lose market vaue.

Different models have peculiar features. That can be checked from website (Japanese) against their chesis and Models.

if the engine & frame number is not tempered there is nothing wrong , however i'd like to know how it can be possible., please share the technic not known so far

Headlights, tail lights, bumpers need to be changed along with front grille. And I think the bonnet, fenders and rear trunk lid needs to be altered. Better not to invest so much in an old car. Just keep the Racer in shape and drive safely

Noman sb, what about if we only upgrade the engine (kabli) and body parts for e.g doors, seats and dash board ? Cabin remains the same ?

Then you just need to get your registration card/book be reissued to have new engine number and that's it. Before you change the engine, you need to make sure that engine number is not be already registered with some other vehicle in Excise department's record. And once you change engine you should have new engine number on your registration book/card.
Nothing need to be donefor body parts like doors, seats, dash board etc if cabin and chassis remains the same.
My two cents, I am not expert.

Dear i have a pajero of 2nd gen model 1994 and i want to change its body to 2nd gen 1998 which is sightly different (only fenders) from 1994 but the generation is same which is 2nd gen upto 1999 can i change it legally according to the current vehicleS notification ?
