level error can be both, too low or too loud, if the suggested adjustment is -10dB or something, that means the sub is actually too loud and the volume/gain should be turned down on the sub
check the crossover on subwoofer aswell. turn it off or above 80hz

post the settings YPAO is suggesting like
front +2
ReAR -1
SUB +4
etc

ur YPAO mic and subwoofer might be in NULL or peak reflection w.r.t each other. move them around and try.

Yes u were correct, suggested adjustment was -10 dB and the problem is resolved after lowering the subs volume. Thanks for the help.

Your system looks very good, its a 6.2. didnt knew about it otherwise I would have considered it. Does it include DVD player or u have to add it up seperatly ?

i had to buy the dvd player separately.i was wanting to go for a blu ray player but it wouldnt have been easy buying 2400rs discs .so i just went for a Sony dvd player wid HDMI out and 1080P upscaling.The sound is reasonable nothing out of this world just reasonable.

I think u r talking about SONY DVD player model 718 costing Rs 6900/-. Its a good player but someone in another forum suggested me to remain away from SONY because of plastic pickup lens instead of glass lens and that full assembly is required to be changed costing upto Rs 3500/- and not just the lens.The information may be wrong but I opted to pay Rs 1100 more and get pioneer.
But I do however like SONY brand as my more than 15 years old stereo Amp / Reciever and cassette deck is working perfectly. I am still using those old sony speakers as fronts with new system.

You dont have to buy blueray discs. I download latest HD movies (720p) from net and watch them through my laptop connected to LCD/ amp. But I will now be converting all my collection to Xvid for playback on DVD player.

well u do have a point about the lens i didnt know about that otherwise i would have bought the pioneer dvd player.:Di would love to download movies of the net but my landline has been dead for over 1 and a half months and i am just paying the dsl fee and i am stuck wid Vfone for the moment.so at the moment i am just buying proper dvds from lahore for about 500 rs a dvd.

Over the last more then one year I have been using one of the spare surround speaker for centre channel. Have been looking for a dedicated centre speaker for sometime , purchesed one yesterday and had it delivered today. Its an old yamaha Model NS-C200 but is brand new. Its huge but produces crystal clear vocals. Check the pics and comment.

So far i think you made good bargains with nice / quality DVD player, Amp, SUB, Centre and rear just try your sys with some tower fronts and you'll feel the difference between heavy front speakers and satellite ones.

Actually I am using my old SONY bookshelf 3 way speakers as fronts , the sound is fairly good and even most of the time I dont even need to turn on my sub woofer. However I am going to gradually upgrade to a high end amp and speakers as and when I find good deals.
I have found that shops having such music systems tend to make huge profits and are not worth it.

try OLX there are some nice speakers being sold. Obviously if your budget allows. I have a kenwood surround sys, i can write specs here, considering the market prices can assess its resale value as you must be updated on these things

can u plz post some picture of Yamaha satellite surround speakers with floor stands and centre speaker...u had a gr8 deal regarding this..i also want 2 purchase front and surround spkrs (floor standing) as i have 5.1 channel videologic digitheatre with only center and subwoofer..
also can any suggest me some gud combination 4 my 5.1....

I had posted the pic of yamaha satellite speakers at post 5. Please note the stands are of SONY but I had done some adjustments to fix yamaha on them.
I am also looking forward to a good deal for front speakers. As of now I am using 30 years old SONY speakers as fronts. They are so good that I dont put on the sub woofer most of the time. The only problem is that they are rated at 40 Watts RMS and 100W peak.

That is one good amplifier you are using I must say, but there are some thing missing I guess I noticed in your setup. that is, you are using old school stereo Sony speakers, right? they must be huge in sound and you mentioned that sometimes you even don't have to turn on your subwoofer.

And the surrounds speakers you mentioned were Yamaha's satellite speakers, there comes the dis-balance. I am sure you are missing a great deal of sound here. I am sure that changing few things will take you to a whole new world of surround sound which you must try.

If you would share the entire setting and placement of your system then I could give you some suggestions, furthermore, the speakers, if you say so, do sound good, then it is fine, but still you need to compare, have you tried JBL speakers? Polk Audio? any high end company similarly? then I would say do check them, they sound all the way different then the old school Pioneers, Sony, Yamaha, Onkyo and Denon, Japanese speakers are good but they cannot be compared with USA's UK's, Denmark's speakers. I am missing the details of sound in every speaker I have, after the Polks tower went Abbotabad

One very important thing, do not buy stuff from the markets, if you need, I can give you many contacts who are the real audiophiles and they demand very good prices.

The changes in position can give you difference of sound as well. Let me know if we can contact over the phone.
