I've made plans to clean the throttle body over the weekend. I'll also adjust the tension in the throttle wire.

when it starts to cut out at 2000 rpm does the check light illuminate? Does the throttle body have something like TRC written on it?

have you tested fuel pressure?

btw - if the ECU caps were bad, you would have a literal can of worms on your hands. (btw you dont need to order the caps from any site, you can buy them from your city)

I never looked at the check engine light that way. It does have traction control and the black cover on top of the throttle body has TRAC written on it. I have not tested fuel pressure. As for the caps I'm not willing to take chances with counterfeit parts. I want do something right the first time and then forget about it.

Just started the car and pressed the throttle by about 10-15%. The engine went to 2000rpm cut off and the idled. This continued until I let off the throttle. During this the check engine light did not blink. Its constantly on.

short the TE1 and E1 connector in the diagnosis box and read the error code from the flashes of the check light. You dont need the engine running for this test. just key on and jumper in place.

regarding capacitors, the ones you will buy from your electronics market will the same as the ones you recieve from anywhere else in the mail.

I did get the codes off it. Check engine light is giving 13 and 56 while TRAC is giving 47 and 51.
Engine Code 13 is 'RPM signal no.2' (basically timing belt needs to be replaced)
Engine code 56 is I think the water temperature sensor

TRAC code 47 is 'When idle switch is ON, sub-throttle position sensor signal is 1.45V or higher'
TRAC code 51 is 'Problem in engine control system'

There are no other codes from the transmission.cruise control, airbag and ABS
As for the caps, these ECU's require low ESR capacitors which have a very high performance compared to the normal ones. The local electronic shops do not have them.

your code 13 indicates a bad signal from the G1 (cam sensor) - and you are correct of it being a jumped belt, but it can also be a wiring fault.

Your code 56 is what is causing this 2000 rpm limit problem. Its usually a bloody idiot code to solve, its tied to the traction control in a way which I dont remember off the bat, somewhere in a diary in a box in my garage.

see the TRAC motor and notice if its messed up.

I have to take off the trc box today to adjust the throttle wire. I'll see if the motor is messed up. One note, I did clear up the codes before. Before the code erase the abs light was constantly on during diagnosis, after clearing the abs did not give any code.

I've seen the forum and apparently the 14 pin wire on the E11 plug needs to be grounded. I was wondering what could be the cause of this code 56?

That is only valid for a swapped engine. Not a factory install with trac and abs working. This problem is linked to the traction control system messing up. Your previous post did speak of a faulty reading with idle switch engaged. Check the position of the blade sensors and the wiring. Its a pretty old car and the wiring could be toasted hard by now.

Code 56 is a unique issue to japanese versions of this car and also matters depending on the year of build.

I did not get the chance to check the TRC today as I was busy with fixing other small issues of the car. Tomorrow I'll definitely check the TRC, idle switch and the throttle wire. I'll also try to ground the pin in the ECU.

So today we opened up the driver side door panel as the window motor was making a lot of noise.
Door Panel taken out

The window regulator and motor taken apart

The magnets in the motor were worn out. Some filing and their good to go

Also took out the rear seat and cleaned up the floor. One seatbelt frame was a little bent, in came a hammer.

Also greased the power seat tracks. They were very dirty. Unfortunately the camera battery ran out so couldn't take a picture of how dirty it was

@xulfiqar Could the traction control/abs ECU be faulty and cause the engine code 56 as it is giving trac code 51?
