Brake fluid change in lahore

From where can I get my brake fluid changed in Lahore? It has been two years since it was changed. Unfortunately, the place from where I got it changed has permanently closed. I have tried a number of other workshops - they said no need ('yeh kabhi nahin change hota'-like, seriously???). Also tried filter house - they don't change either.

Car is a jdm wagon mr 2011. If the suggested place is near dha, that's an added bonus.

As far as my ltd. knowledge is concerned, I have read some owners / users manuals of cars, and in all such manuals, it was written to change brakes fluid after xxx kms / yyy years, whichever comes 1st.

The owner manual should never be removed from its provided cover or even thumbed through as its holy gospel and will reduce the monetary value of the car it belongs to.

Haha yes of course. The coolant also doesn't need to be changed, and total quartz 5000 has to be used for 5000 km, while quartz 9000 for 9000 km. 'Car specialists' in Pakistan are something else. Self proclaimed specialists who never read anything.

buy toyota or sieken oil and visit osama for the flush and bleed job. it is a good time to service the brakes too

Also, my brake pads were last changed 30k km ago. I can see them through the spokes - they seem ok for now. Should last another 10k, which is one year for me.

Should I nevertheless change the pads along with the brake fluid, or am I needlessly worrying?

If your brakes are working fine i.e. no grinding noises when you apply brakes, and no marks on the disc rotors, etc. then your brakes pads seem to have some life in them, and no need to change them right now.

If brakes fluid is past its effective service life, like ~02 years / 40,000 Kms, whichever comes 1st, then it may be changed.

You are mixed up, brake fluid has terminal life of 1 or two years and brake pads are “good till worn out or damaged”

Which books are you reading where they tell you to change brake pads on passenger vehicle at a given mileage?

I thought you actively traded cars.

Sir you are very right, I definitely mixed them up.

I just read again. For brakes fluid, it is to be replaced after 40,000 Kms / 24 months. For front and rear brakes, they are to be inspected after every 20,000 Kms / 12 months (80~1 lac Kms / 04~05 years is only for coolant).

Thank you all. I got my brake fluid changed. Apparently there is a very good fluid change workshop near my house:

They have good mechanics as well. For future reference in case somebody else is looking to get brake fluid changed, this is near Askari 11/DHA. It's on the service road indicated on the map, right next to a carpenter shop. I have given its approximate location.

I must say that they did a very professional job in changing the fluid (and most of all, actually knew that it needed to be changed!). Nevertheless, it's good to keep an eye out; for example, make sure yourself that the reservoir never gets empty. Look to be a good place to get the coolant changed as well (most other ustaads will simply empty the radiator and forget about the coolant that needs to be flushed from the engine block).

Sorry I don't have the exact location of the shop (it's a fluid change shop plus a basic workshop) where I changed it from (or the phone number) and I have forgotten the name as well - didn't bother since they are so near to where I live:P

Anyway, getting there is straightforward. Very near (just two or three shops further down the same road) to this fluid change shop, there is Jameel workshop which is quite famous in the area:

Just reach here, and in between this and the fluid change shop, there is a carpenter shop and a battery shop (on the map I have shared, the shop is between Naeem trading company and Jameel workshop). You can't miss it! They are open after 10 am until at least 7 pm. Should also tell you that you will need to bring your own brake fluid.
