change the fluid every 12 to 24 months depending on how and where you drive, also replace the black rubber pipes at the wheels after 10 years, they go bad and hinder braking performance.

Thank you sir, lesson learnt. However I am now facing a new problem. A few hours ago, I was driving my car at around 80kph, I had to overtake the car infront due to which I shifted to a lower gear. When I pressed the throttle the car started losing power rather than gaining and eventually all the lights showed up and the car's engine stopped. I tried starting the car 3-4 times only to then realize that the timing belt might have snapped so I shouldnt be cranking it, it might have snapped despite only being driven 25,000 km in 3-4 years on the new belt. The car has a D13B Hypervalve, I am not sure if its a non-interference motor or an interference one (probably like all hondas). Apart from this picture attached I have read everywhere that its an interference engine. Please let me know how deep I am in the water, thank you so much.

D13 is interference engine, belt snapping is bad news.

Anyway, check first whats going on, it maybe a duff distributor, pop off the cap and crank engine, if its spinning then your belt is intact.

Check the usual, fuel, spark timing for no start.

These old honda had main relay issues, cold solder etc.

Just got the car towed to the mechanic, he's having a great time as of recently. I did open the cap and check, nothing was spinning so the belt probably snapped. I can only pray to god that the valves haven't bent. Thank you, will update with the verdict.

It can be fixed, whatever the damage is to the engine (and to your wallet).

If you find the valves bent - remove the pistons and check the ring lands too - make sure the rings are able to rotate smoothly - I have seen instances where the valve hit damages the piston really badly too.

repack with new conrod bearings (they are cheap)

Even If they're not bent, mechanic will say they're bent, so stay on his head bro. Don't leave his shop unless you yourself see everything.

Alhamdulillah, nothing happened to the valves, he said that there is enough clearance in this engine for the pistons to not hit the valves under these circumstances. The mechanic found that one of the mounts was broken, nothing else. Here are the pictures he sent of the master cylinder among other things.

Everything has been fixed, miraculously no damage to the engine. Bearable damage to the wallet though.

You are right, majority of mechanics in Karachi are like that. But I've been going to this guy since the last 3 years, he is extremely trustworthy and he only fixes things that need to be fixed, kisi aur k paas jata to valve pakke bend hojate agar na hue hote.

Hahaha and I've seen mechanics hammering nails on to piston top to show the end users *ye dekhen sir jee piston crack hua wa hai valve itni zor se hit hua hai *

Yes, i've seen friends get ripped off countless times. But they don't change mechanics kiu k 'purana jaanne wala hai"

Near ayaz masjid, 15th commercial street, dha phase 2.
The guy's name is hasnain, really good at what he does. A few months ago the car broke crank pulley due to redlining, a mechanic in phase 1 said that crankshaft has broken lamba kharcha. When i took the car to hasnain he found out what was wrong, which was only a broken pulley and fixed my problem under 5k.
