According to my opinion, people who are used to hard braking on other cars (even while normal driving), they don't like ABS brakes. But even if you brake hard on ABS brakes, they try to lock and you feel it.

Now either you can check any other similar car, which you already mentioned that no friend of yours have one, or you can ask someone else to drive your car and rate the brakes. Now this person should not have a car like Mercedes :). let him rate the brakes.

But the brakes of GLi and Altis are not that bad which your posts show.

Two technical parameters are important for brake design: Swept Area per Ton and Total Contact Patch size.

SA/T refers to the total brake area available per ton of vehicle weight, and TCP refers to the area of rubber in contact with the road.

I am willing to bet that any model of the Corolla, or any modern car for that matter, has very good specifications for these two aspects.

I don't think the problem is the design of the car or its brakes.

Why in pakistan local manfactured bad quality extremely over priced cars of toyota honda suzuki mafia all vehichles are enforced by the poor public of pakistan to buy instead of imported even 5years old which are much better as already cost of living is too tough for low and middle average class road congestion traffic problems increasing day by day as mashaALLAH hamari abadi population of pakistan will cross 19...... in few years but our politicians not thinking for new roads roots or to repair atleast already broken roads all brother and sisters get united and take some serious steps to get rid of local mafia of all local manfactured bad quality vehichles who are increasing prices every few months (A)

+1 bro the problem is the un equal brake fluid distribution and the brake linings,the lining r made of rubber,they expand when the brake fluid gets hot n thus making the brakes less effective

Well i would like to suggest is that dont get close to other cars and rely on brakes, practice braking at speed breakers so that you may get andaza that where car will stop

+1. Some people have habit to apply brakes as late as they can. I think this can be the reason with OP.

You can try hard braking on empty road, may be late night, and then see how brakes behave. You will feel slight pulsation in the brake paddle when ABS will activate, don't release the brake paddle and see does the car stops or not. If it don't then definitely brakes not working properly.

You can improve the braking system by asking your technician to clean you brakes and then flush the braking fluid.
Normally brake oil degrades with times by absorbing water and moisture inside it and at times Air gets trapped inside the brake lines which seriously degrade the braking capabilities of a car.
This can happen to a new car as well. I remember once I bought the new Honda City 2006, first thing I did was that I replace the tires with Yokohama but later I thought that car has very poor braking system. Later on once I performed a flush after 40000 km I saw an improvement in car braking capabilities. Since then I had been enjoying the braking of Honda City 2006 and never faced any such issues.

ABS khaddon mein nahi kaam krti aur jis road pr bajri ho wahan pr bhi bewafai dikha deti hai

Its already mentioned in the User Manual of cars with ABS. That's why it is recommended to read the User Manual thoroughly before you take your new car to the road. It will make your life easier

Infact everytime I brake I am more concerned about the car behind me as it may not have as good brakes

on a serious note! dont overspeed with corolla or do races, until you ve ABS which gives some decency to brakes,this car is not made for speeding! drive safe.
there is an issue with corolla brakes after 2002 design, before that brakes were good.
if you are trying to use a car for speedind buy a car other than corolla.
Corolla serves you well, much better than any other car in villages due to its strong suspension, its best to use this feature, rather than speeding in the city.

braking & stopping of car varies from driver to driver. No car manufacturer is stupid to compromise on the ABS technology.

imagine you are stopped at safe (your calculation) distance from other car in front and other one from rear bang and you hit in front who would you blame. of course the one who banged your rear, but you are equally responsible for not being at principally safe distance from car in front.

New corolla have very fine brakes .GLi and altis brakes are perfect but XLI has some problem which is always there as it doesnt have ABS.U should compare ur gli to other gli
