A similar shade on this same shape of car was sold by suzuki when these had a 3cyl 1.0 litre engine and were called swift.

It really was good looking.

What brand of paint was this? Looks like 2 coats of 2k clear was shot on top! But it seems like its untinted.

At the first place, I wasn't sure about the colour, then I wasn't sure about if it'll look good on this car but the day the car was painted, I realized that I made the right choice, maybe I've always been making the right choices with the colours of my projects (I guess)

in simple words, I posted it to evaluate the workmanship of guys performing denting and painting job, i mean there is a lot to be desired.

i know u do an effort to source the parts and all, and hand it all over to these guys but in my opinion, all they do is temporary make up which is not even close to restoration.

wat i like is the photography and editing efforts, which is 10/10 not only to look the end product good but also to expose wat lies underneath.

i do agree that completing the surficial make up project will be far less fruitful if done with intentions of real restoration, however i have witnessed denters/painters doing such short term projects with the intention to disposing of the end product making a reasonable return against the efforts made.

With every picture I'm posting, I'm mentioning that the pictures are raw, unedited and straight from my phone's camera. This car is running since 7 months, going through all kind of weather conditions, rain, dust, sunny and what not, but the paint is still intact, people are appreciating the car whenever they see it parked somewhere. You're more than welcome to come and see the car personally and let me know about anything that needs to be fixed and I'll be more than happy to work on it. I wasn't planning to restore the car, I wanted to modify it without ricing it up, went for the GTi front bumper so that the car looks better and a little bulkier as compared to a basic Margalla, if it was about restoring it, I would've painted it white, get new bumpers and keep them black and just go with the OEM wheel covers to preserve it's originality, but I wanted to do something different and since there's not much I could do with this car, the only thing I could play with was the colour.

So far, the car had the OEM wheel covers from the PKDM Margalla, didn't find anything that could go with the car since the options in 114 PCD are very limited when it comes to 13/14 inch alloys. I'm planning to get Rays CE28 or TE37s as they'll compliment the car, for now it's running on steelies. Will start working on the interior pretty soon, planning to swap it with the GLX interior.

The paint brand was Glasurit, the paint was generated against the paint code I got from a Toyota Dealership in USA.

Btw no, the GLX interior had better door cards, they were a single piece insert instead of 2 consisting of plastic on the upper half and cardboard with fabric on the lower half. I've sourced two sets of these dashboards in Lahore, 4 door cards with the dashboard.
The dashboard was the same, the only thing that was different were the door inserts.

Ive painted with glasurit and standox both, they were both sold in Karachi at a certain paint shop - the PC they used at the time that interfaced with their scales and paint rack had all the shades of almost all common cars around the globe. I saw that first hand.

Why did you need to get the shade code from USA? the colour codes are available on their machine or even online from a lot of places.

Did you use the full glasurit lineup? base primer, paint and then clear too? or just glasurit paint and some other clear?

The shade wasn't available in any shade cards available at the shops, searched it online as well but there were different codes appearing so I had to get it from USA since camry had this colour in the lineup.

I've used the entire system from Glasurit btw, the cost difference was a lot but it's worth every penny. I got a hold of this shop in Lahore through my grandfather as they owned a workshop back in the days & knew many people from the same field, so he's one of the dealers of Glasurit, 3M and Standox in Lahore. Our workshop was known as Raza Motor Works. It was located in Dial Singh Mansion, Mall Rd, Lahore.

If this is the emerald green shade of mid 90s camrys then its also on global models of Land Cruiser. If its the mid 2000s Lexus/camry shade then its under the toyota windom lineup on their system.

The shop probably has an expired license from glasurit and are stuck with an old database.

and 100% agree - the cost difference is offset by the sheer quality of finish when you use the whole system, This is why bodyshop work is so expensive globally. I used standox lineup to refinish my mother's Honda Accord in Pakistan, I stripped it to a rolling shell and did the whole job in Honda Greek white (factory shade of that certain car) - which looks almost 90% similar to Honda Championship white but very different than Honda polar white - The shop was in DHA Karachi where I bought the materials - They had the whole paint rack, scales and mixer buckets connected to a PC back then.

The result was amazing, far better than what Honda did at the factory.
