Buying Advice: Brand New City vs Swift or JDM Toyota Raize?

Salam everyone

I’m planning to upgrade and need your opinions on three options within a 5 to 5.5 million budget:

• Brand New Honda City 1.2 CVT
• Brand New Suzuki Swift GLX CVT
• Toyota Raize XS 2021 (Grade 4.5, 10k km, freshly imported in 2025)

Im planning to get Toyota Raize inspected before finalizing. On the other hand, Swift and City offer zero meter peace of mind, warranty, and strong resale

Background Info:

• We are a family of three myself, my wife, and our 12 year-old son
• Road conditions are good (Bahria Town Karachi), so no off-road capability is needed
• This car will be used for daily city driving and family outings, no heavy usage

Current Garage:

Honda Civic 2020
Suzuki Alto VXL 2025 (driven ~3,500 km)
(The new car will be replacing the Alto)

• My wife has a lower back condition and has undergone surgery, so ride comfort and ease of entry/exit are important. For this reason Civic is too low for her to get in and out of comfortably

• I haven’t driven the Toyota Raize yet, but I’m considering it because of its higher ride height, which might help with accessibility and comfort

• Fuel average is not a very major concern. My main priorities are long term reliability (5+ years), Comfort and drive quality, Low maintenance hassle

Which of the three would you recommend based on overall value, reliability, and drive quality?

Raize offers the most value for money, a lot more features than both.
Keep suzuki out of the competition.
Hondas are never known for soft suspension specially city, it's a back breaker

Raize isnt very soft either, it has low profile tyres and vezel like suspension

Considering your situation I think the swift is the best bang for your buck considering your travel and requirements. By far drive quality of the swift is unmatched, and being a local car you have excellent options for resale value and reliability since it'd be zero meter

for raize 5+ years i have .to say u wil have parts , mechanic issue and parts are dame expensive (dollar is going up now)

and u will have hard time to sell that car in long run i have seen some showrooms are selling rate to rate this car .. fancy but long run not feasible bcz we got not support of JDM Cars and parts

2022 passo side .. indicator got hit by biker and went for plaza and that costed me around 8000 rs yup ..

not really. you need to know where to look.

local manufactured cars parts are not cheap either. and a lot of parts are not available either from dealerships, changan, haval, etc, even some parts of swift and yaris as well.

Fuel economy: Swift GLX

If not, I suggest get a used Grande. It will be a massive upgrade and the car is rock solid, super quick, fuel efficient if driven properly and very large comfortable cabin.

If you don’t want to buy used then Honda City is also fine has bigger cabin and comfort than Swift but Swift cannot be beaten in fuel economy it’s awesome.

Avoid Raize at all costs do NOT go for imported JDMs with no local support. If any body part needs replacement or fixing even a side mirror or lights or bumper you will need to do extreme khwari in scrapyards.

Unlike Passo and other cars which came in low Quantity, Mira and Vitz/Yaris parts are actually being made in Pakistan now. Most parts are interchangeable.

Raize unlike other Japan only models, Raize is avalible in almost all of Asia and middleeast aswell so parts isnt going be a very big issue for that matter.

Salam. First of all thank you to everyone who shared their advice and experiences your input has been really helpful and appreciated

Over the past few days, I test drove multiple options: 3 Toyota Raize (JDM), 1 Daihatsu Rocky, Suzuki Swift at the dealership, Kia Stonic EX+, Honda City Aspire, and the Toyota Yaris (twice). After all that, I have to say in the current market, none of these cars really stand out as true value for money. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses

In the end, I went with the Honda City Aspire. Maybe it was a slightly biased choice, having previously owned both a Honda City 2020 and a Civic, but I found myself leaning back toward Honda. That familiarity and comfort played a role in my decision

I did really like the Swift as well, great car but my recent 6 month experience with Suzuki’s dealership (as an Alto owner) left a lot to be desired, which made me hesitate

Once again, thank you all for your valuable guidance and thoughtful suggestions throughout this process
