Buying from amazon possible in Pakistan?

I got stuck in the same sort of situation because Amazon does not ship every thing in Pakistan. I was in search of Alternates and found http:www.shoppingbag.pk website. They have their office in USA from where they can ship any legal product to Pakistan at your door step. If you have credit card and your desired product is available on Amazon or Ali express than you don't need to go any where else otherwise i will recommend shoppingbag.pk website. Also don't forget taxes and duties on the imported products.. you knew everything is not very simple in Pakistan

Any idea where I can find a list of import rates for each and every item? Like for example can you please tell me how much duty you paid on those SSDs that you shared. Tell me the duty per SSD.

the mSATA SSD was $88 which is around 9600 rupees (including the transaction charges that must have incurred )
i paid 13.5k for each. !so around 4k i was charged for shipping both (international +local) + custom duty.clearance etc.

I think its a pretty fair deal.considering the item is 16400 on homeshopping.pk with 20-25 days shipping time.!!

Also including packaging weight of both is 0.6lb , and stackry charging $30.18 for GLOBAL MAIL PRIORITY.and $31 for DHL.
so thats around 3441 rupees which brings the total to around 13100. now custom duty can be anywhere from 10-10k rupees. unpredictable.
since airport customs can charge anything. and you cant even argue as DHL pays it on your behalf.

Sir that is only when items reach through pakistan post. however when using private courier services like DHL , FedEx etc.. items arrive via airplane. and customs is charged on airport. so each and every item is inspected.

Sorry all international mail travels via Air mail. All items go through same customs officers.

i asked Mr.Adnan he says and i quote " Regular Post is tracked too the difference is that regular post doesnt go through airport customs , and is managed by post offices . shipments through regular post usually arent examined but instances are where you would be required to produce NOC and custom duty."

this was in response to my question " why do some people get charged with custom duty and need to produce NOC while other go unscathed and dont pay any duty or NOC when buying from China/Aliexpress"?

I face this dilemma from time to time and usually end up sighing in despair.

This time I decided to seek the aid of fellow pakwheelers.

So, how can a person buy stuff (usually electronics and car audio for me:)) from amazon?
1. What payment modes are possible?
2. What are the duty charges?
3. Is there any risk involved such as damage, fakes?

Needless to say, the seller with at least 95% rating and shipping to Pakistan should be selected.

Well. Amazon does not deliver in Pakistan and has no plan to come to Pakistan in near future.

There are certain local e-commerce players that ask customer to share URLs with them and they arrange those items. Problems with model are as follows:
1. Customer's privacy is compromised
2. The delivery time is 4-6 weeks (looks like they use camels to take shipments from USA to Pakistan)
3. They charge many hidden costs: a) shipping fee b) shipment handling charges c) service charges d) An extra charge over and above the actual cost at Amazon

Dont bother with providing false description, as they can easily see the items and catch you from there. However regarding prices, you can lower them "a bit" to see if you can get away with it. They may use the prices to calculate any custom duty, if they sound realistic. To label a $500 laptop as $50 probably wont save you anything.
