Byco fuel quality, yes or no?

Dear PWers,

I want your feedback on Byco. Is this brand worth trusting? The reason I am asking is there a new fuel station just open near to my place (Phase 8 DHA Karachi) and it will be really convenient for me to get fuel from here. but I never tried Byco. So feedback would be nice.

Following. I want to know what kind of fuel octane ratings are available in Pakistan.

I have a 1000cc heavy bike waiting at customs, insha'Allah processing is almost complete. But the way everyone talks about the fuel quality and MMT usage is scaring me. I want to know if regular or high octane is safe, as the bike I'm importing is spec'd for 91 or higher

You can use normal fuel(92 RON) . They claim it has 92 RON rating. Its better to use Hi Octane(97 RON) in imported Vehicles .
Any company-operated pump with Euro-5 standard Hi-Octane fuel available will be good enough.

these days avoid pumps that are not company operated, most of the pumps even on shar-e-faisal are mixing Irani fuel.
Cost of fuel has gone up which means they have to engage more working capital to do the business, Irani fuel comes at 30 to 40% less price and saves them the hassle. In recent years quality of Irani fuel has gone better but still its not equivalent to locally produced fuel and comes with lot of contamination at times.
Only Company operated pumps of all companies are using 100% local fuel. There is atleast 50% reduction in import of fuel but not so much in actual consumption. You can imagine from where that gap is being filled.

In Canada where I moved from, fuel is measured in aki. 91 is the recommended, so 91 aki is like 93 Ron. I guess Ill try to use high octane. But, my issue is, is if they are using MMT to boost octane at the pumps here, maybe it's better just to get regular, and then buy an octane booster to dump in the tank.

Also, my question since moving here has been how to identify or locate company operated pumps. I live near Valencia town Lahore. Want to know of pumps nearby. I am also wondering as I frequently travel to Sahiwal. How do you determine company operated or good petrol pumps there/ in smaller towns?

Call you each company on their number and ask for location of coco sites

yes its a hassle and not easy, but to keep your car safe go an extra mile till we have this economic situation.

the pso near ucp, been filling some years now and its fine.

Since shifting to euro 5 fuel, fuel is fine. Changed the spark plugs recently, no noticeable mmt residue on it. Where previously there was.

I've been filling up from the total on pine avenue near Valencia. People say it's a good pump, and it's usually pretty busy. Been fine so far. I tried the pso across the st once for my 125, fuel smelled quite strange...almost like paint thinner. Been avoiding that one

One easy way to check fuel quality is to get a bottle filled from fuel station let it sit over night and look at the bottom for dirt.

Hi. Use high octane only if you can afford. Shell is best, Total is on 2nd place, 3rd is PSO. Its my personal opinion after checking their product details.
