I think the AC on Atto3 doesnt have the chill in its cooling especially during the day.

My guess is in super hot weathers the battery gets hot and ac system gets distributed to cool the battery as well hence the problem.

I do want to get the AC gas checked to make sure its at the ideal level.

Also the auto mode on the ac is not well calibrated and it sets the compressor to low power mode very quickly and the fan is set to very low speeds.

In super hot weathers car ususally takes 3kw power just for the ac and yet the cabin isnt very comfortable if there are more people in the car. On contrast a household 1.5 ton AC takes much less electricity. In Multan its 43 celcius these days.

So perhaps I should get the AC gas pressure checked. My experience with different cars tells me the compressor is either small or not efficient enough for Multan weathers

A not very good news for the atto3 owners:
I registered my car yesterday Excise department punjab was initially registering this car in 1000cc category with lifetime token paid at registration stage. Now the policy has been changed and the new registrations are being done on the '2500cc and above' category which obviously costs more with the additional annual cost and hassle of token tax every July.
I took up this matter with an excise officer who said even those registered earlier will be affected by this change and category will be changed for them as well.
Not sure whether it was a mistake or the policy has really changed but this is what the excise guy told me

Price tag in my opinion is not a part of the equation when the rules categorise vehicles on the basis of engine power. They need to have a consistent formula for translating CC to KW

I think they shouldn't be using CC at all. It would make far more sense to just use the price tag itself and make taxes a %age of that, with certain thresholds increasing the multiplier instead of any CC or kWh conversion.

An example to illustrate:

Price up to PKR 5 Million: 1% of total invoice price
Price up to PKR 10 Million: 2% of total invoice price
Price up to PKR 15 Million: 3% of total invoice price
Price up to PKR 25 Million: 5% of total invoice price
Anything above: 10% of total invoice price

Bunch of clowns running the government. Just to clarify this is done by Punjab government only. So far Sindh government is best in case of registration cost of EVs.

Why are they even trying to convert EV power into cc? Even the Cultus sized EV will have more power than average 1300~1500cc ICE sedan. They should either tax based on percentages like Uzair mentioned or create slabs based on battery capacity.

BTW tell that excise officer if 1000cc doesn't makes sense, nor does the 2500cc. Since they are ultra max dumb and if they forcefully want to tax EV based on ICE engine capacity, then they should make Atto equivalent to Jolion HEV or Cross HEV. Making it 2500cc car will make its yearly token tax equivalent to Fortuner whose token tax is I guess Rs 26000. I highly recommend you avoid Punjab registration and do it from Islamabad or Sindh. Many people are doing the same.

I think invoice price does play a role other than cc in the total registration cost my Prado 2.7 costed me 1.1 million to register back in 2023 (isb number)

Hi guys,
I'm looking into the available electric cars in the market and was very fond of the atto 3. When looking at the specs though I felt like the 7.5 second 0-100 seemed a little slow for an electric car. I would love to hear from owners if they ever felt like they had enough power throughout during their drives or if they wished it was any faster.

While 7.5 seconds would feel plenty fast on an ICE car I would want my first experience with an electric car to feel exciting. Would love to hear some opinions from owners or maybe steer me into any alternatives

BYD app is enabled couple of weeks back for Mar, April, and May deliveries. I am enjoying the app and it's super cool. You can check the SoC, lock/unlock, on/off lights, open/close windows, control HVAC system, check cabin temperature, check tire pressure, vehicle position, and vehicle components health.

If you just received the delivery, I would suggest you to wait for a couple of weeks since it's enabled from China.
Android Auto and Apple Car Play will be enabled in August. But many people are enjoying that too by switching the car's region from Pakistan to Australia. Switching region further opens BYD App store which helps you install Maps, Spotify, YouTube, and many more apps.

Personally I feel the car is quick. Hard acceleration push you back in your seat. Initially acceleration is reduced to prevent tire spin due to high torque of motor. But once it starts rolling, it's very fast.

I suggest you visit flagship store and do a test drive.

How to change the region?

I suggest not to change the region right now if you have not received the QR code for enabling app and installation, You may not receive the QR code if you switch the region before enabling app. This is my guess.

All these features will be enabled for Pakistan in August. If you can't wait, you can proceed below.
In order to change the region, you can switch it by following the steps mentioned in this video.

Stop on the following screen and don't proceed with the steps mentioned in the video. Just change the region from the Country Code.
