You can check the SoC, lock/unlock, on/off lights, open/close windows, control HVAC system, check cabin temperature, check tire pressure, vehicle position, and vehicle components health.

This is great. I wanted remote engine start option just so I can turn on AC in car, so this is great information.

Also does it have sim slot? Or is it connected with wifi or Bluetooth?

You can remote start with key fob as well and AC will turn on automatically if it was previously on before turning off the vehicle.

The benefit of app is
* you can turn on the AC/heater without getting close to the vehicle.
* With app only AC will turn on, not the vehicle.

The app communicates with the vehicle using pre installed sim. The sim gets limited monthly data which is paid by BYD global. So it's free of cost for the customer.

There really isn't anything to "Turn On" in an electric car apart from a couple of sensors, HVAC, lights and displays. And I believe most of the things you'd benefit from turning on remotely are already supported by the app.

Guys any idea which is the cheapest power charging place for EV? Seems like everyone has their own rate

Cuz right now commercial EV charging points are “charging” exorbitant prices. If you get 85+ rs/unit rate, that makes running EVs more expensive than petrol cars for motorway journeys and more expensive than hybrids in local.

Home charging is the cheapest. I heard prices of charging stations will soon be regulated because now government has started giving subsidies on price/unit.

Use charging stations only when you are traveling out of city or in case of emergency.

Where did you get the DB box from? I have a very solid DB manufacturer but he hasnt made any for EV chargers. If you have a schematic drawing for it, I would be very grateful. Thanks.

Thanks! I havent tried the app ... I was in a hurry when taking delivery so didnt discuss then.

Yesterday i downloaded it but am unable to "connect" it to the car. Will get it sorted when I get the time.

Thank you Akbar for sharing electrician for Karachi. Let me share mine for Rawalpindi/Islamabad.

Even though I received my Atto in March but I got my 7 kW charger installed last week.
If anyone is looking for good electrician for BYD charger installation in Rawalpindi/Islamabad, I highly recommend this guy. He's a solar installer as well.

Thank you guys... I booked my Atto 3 in grey today from BYD Experience center Lahore... This forum helped me alot to make this decision

As someone said in this group, once you drive electric, you will forget your Honda Civic and yes I agree to this!

Major points for considering for me were:
1. Remote capabilities through BYD app
2. 2KW free to move charger
3. Long battery life

After doing test drive, pick was another one.

Glad to hear Muneer was of help. He's extremely competent, a trait lacking these days.

I am using a high quality clopal db (not waterproof). If you need something custom made, muneer has an excellent db box fabricator as well. I got my homes db made by him and a custom made battery case.

I have followed byd protocols excluding an earth leakage breaker. Also got a dedicated AC pit made for the charger.
