not exactly.. the L3 is quite new in the market with sales just above 1000 units a month, it stands at 124th place among passenger cars in China as per monthly sales. The new Corolla is at #13 while Corolla Ex (old corolla) is at #38 (as per January 2011 sales chart). It is the BYD F3 which is still the most successful and highly sold vehicle with sales volume of nearly 30,000 units a month, and the one which causes most damage to Corolla.

Almost 1 year after the launch, the L3 sells averaging around 1700 units per month and stands at #148 out of 230 passenger cars in Chinese market. The new corolla sells at around 16,000 units at #10th position among passenger cars. BYD's F3 which holds the pride to be the unshaken best selling sedan for more than 2 years is now at #11 place with average 15,500 units a month, while the Corolla EX (the 9th gen Corolla, still on sale with face-lifts) is at #27th position with average 11500 units per month.

BYD L3 is slowly picking up sales, from 124th position it has moved up to 75th position in the monthly sales chart selling 5,407 units in September 2011, while a collective figure of 21,289 for the year 2011 so far.
