now finally youahve decided to do CA then do one more thing try to find soem good reference for big 4 other wise big mess.
In pakstan marketit is hard o get your first job, and if yo uhired then thand program.
In international merket, it is easy to get a job, but you need to burn your ass to retain it.

Seems like this thread has got responses from CA's in Pakistan. How much of a presence do the big 4 have in Pakistan.... I believe they all have affiliates in Pakistan? and how hard/easy is it to get a position to article at the big 4? I guess to do a CA in Pakistan, you would take all the CA courses after graduation from University?

i will apply for CAT this year.......after that ACCA

CA is good for Pakistan........but ACCA is recognized around the globe.......my advice go for ACCA

nice discusion going on, sorry for changing attentions, would any of UAE memeber will let me know about ACCA, SAP acounting or oracle financial.. im MBA finance with entry level experience...

ACCA rocks CA is not good if you want to do CA then do ACCa first and after that do CA easy

acca qualified guy gets exemption in modules of ca

complete your sap or oracle and get one year experience in pakistan then definatelly you wil gonna good offer other wise i have seen guys working here on 4000 to 6000 uaed.

it is kind of hard to say, in technology related matters you need to be upgraded every time which is benefit,
and in accounting matters you still need to be upgrade but past is not that much fast as technology.
in current situation sap is more beneficial then acca or oracle, but if you have acca and sap in your pocket then double boost, still for fresh ppl market is little closed, every one needs atleast 1 year experienced person.

@2c! Sidat Hyder was rep firm of Andersen, post enron Andersen worldwide was dissolved n the partners/ staff merged primarily with EY.. the same was done in Pakistan where Ford Rhode Robson Morrow was the member firm of EY.. they got merged n the new firm was named Ford Rhodes Sidat Hyder!
