Today tested two vitz 1sfe auto trans powered one mine and one my Friend n PW member aswell Speed_mannan

Figures from Abdul Mannans Car
Mods:Car has trd muffler wth 2.25" downpipe but wth 1 restriction.iridium Spark plugs.Was also running Hi Octane.
De Mods: Car was lagging a bit due to old oil in the chamber almost 4k kms driven.

Weight:2097lbs isnt he too heavy lolz

Are these bhp figure at the wheels or at corrected to the crankshaft?

Addendum:

Please remember that the SAE J1349 standard bhp ratings are obtained at 77°F (25°C) with 0% humidity and a barometric pressure of 29.234 in-Hg (99 KPa). Increase in temperature and humidity, and decreased barometric pressure will cause significant losses. Add in substandard fuel required retarded timing, and you can easily lose 20-30% of the rated output on a hot humid day running on crappy petrol.

PS: If you are feeling truly nerdy, the correction factor for weather conditions is as follows:

Now use this formula to get an estimate of bhp at the wheels:

Horsepower = Weight x [(speed/234)^3]

For example, for a car that weighs 3200 lbs, and is travelling at 111 mph at the end of the quarter mile run:

Horsepower = 3200 x [(111/234)^3] = 341 bhp approximately.

according to this formula this is what my VW is doing:

hp = 1962.1x[(62/234)^3] = 36.8hp

so as it is i'm producing 36hp at the wheels in my 1303,... LOL! will have to recalculate this when i fit the 34 carb now (should be around 45hp, which will be a significant boost in performance)

Actually, that's not bad at the wheels. Please see my addendum above about the effect of weather conditions on the rated output.

i laughed because i was quite surprised,... i'm running a 31 carb on it and that is way too small for my engine size (it's a 1.6). this engine needs a bare minimum of a 34PICT carb. also i have not tackled the ignition yet, so i can expect at least 1-2lb/ft (flywheel) from that too.

BUT, considering that the engine is bolted onto the gearbox and there is very little transmission loss that is pretty good for such an old car. specially if you consider that this 36-year-old beetle can keep up with most "modern" cultuses (not the EFi ones).

BTW my car is built to run on 85-90 octane so i can get good results with "super"

I am not sure of the exact shape of your car, or whether in Pakistan they were different, but I think the weight is about 2160 lbs, and has about 100 bhp.

The Civic is excellent in output.

For the Vitz, your calculated output is very good, given the weather variations as I detailed above. It must be hot and humid there right now, no?

See how well this simple calculation works.

If you can get an accurate weight, it will help you determine the exact performance of any other modiifcations that you may consider in the future.

lol surprised to see such kinda thread over here ....welll i would like to make some corrections..my weight is 76kg (just checked lol) and car weights 890kg i guess..plus fuel tank is half at the moment we checked it...fuel wasn't fully hi-octance (i think it was 50 50 or even lesser, otherwise it would have performed even better then ) well whtever HP's it gave,i seriously dnt care..it was only calculated for fun...and both of us had great time thankz wasay bhai

Well got better response frm civic today as Got new fuel pump as old one died and yet weather is also colder will get fresh figures very soon im expecting sumthing 130BHP+ inshaAllah
