i had 2c back some time... my experience was

downpiping degrade performance, may be due to less back pressure than orignally produced on stock exhaust...

also u can increase ur perfomance by increasing ur flow of fuel through pump....
put a bigger fuel pump and wil do the job...
i had nissans fuel pump, n my car was better than other 2.ods with 2c engines.

There is some **** i believe on pump which can change the amount of fuel, tel ur mechanic to increase fuel on it... that shud do it on the cost of high consumption.

Thanks buddy but in actuality what does downpiping do. And let's say if i were to compare, now my car might be giving 16km per litre but after increasing the fuel flow how much would it consume. And on average what's exactly is a 2c's consumtion in terms of km. Thanks.

NA diesels would love more air and free exhaust - the next thing would be to increase fuelling slightly - using the max load screw - but not crazy - as you could melt a couple of pistons in the process. turbocharge it and put a proper LDA type pump - to properly fuel it when boost comes in

On Kabuli turbo: Most if not all spare parts up here are second hand smuggled goods from Afghanistan (hence referred to as Kabuli) where they arrive in containers, apparently from outer space

Yes, it would be better to replace engine with an original turboed model rather than slap on a turbo onto the 2C. The debate as to the long term feasibility turboing the B, C, and L series diesels is still ongoing, but its a practical and doable jugaar as long as you make sure that cooling system is 100% and engine is never overheated.

What I don't understand is that what is a 2C engine doing sitting in a Toyota Hilux in the first place, unless you are confusing this with the 2L. Ideally you should have a 2LT or 3L engine in there and the 1KZ if you want the full monty.

And some one pointed out here to download the repair manual of 2C. i have tried alot but not found on the net. Any one on this thread would like to share the document if having its soft copy...?

Well a friend did tampered with the fuel pump on this new 2010 2.0d and well it did increase the speed of the car but caused 2 additional issues.

smoke / fuel consumption was higher - before if it was like 12 - 15km per ltr now it was like 8- 10km per ltr.

then also by doing this i was told be a mechanic at toyota as well u scew the pump and engine as well , as it has to burn more fuel / gets more hot and hence u shorten the life of the engine.

as for the turbos , will not recommend them as expensive , ppl here the mechanics really dont have a big idea on how they work and the extra parts they require to be fited on the 2d engine.

How will it be possible to fit a turbo on the current 2C engine that i have without reducing its life and screwing up the engine

Just Don't Think about killing your car " keep it normal "... get it maintained i-e regular checkups and drive safe. Rash Performance is Not Actually made up for Pakistani Roads to be honest with you

Iv use a lot of diesel cars and i would suggest only one thing to you when you are messing around with a 2C engine .. Dont mess with it your engine will simply die before you even know it . These old non turbo engines and even Old turbo Engines cannot be made any quicker than their standard performance..... YOu want a quick diesel engine get a Toyota D4D engine installed and get the ECU chipped thats the onlyw ay to make a diesel car quicker otherwise
you can add a turbo in 2C and youll have just 10 Hp raise which for a diesel engine is nothing at all....

Based on your vast experience of diesel cars, can you suggest a good trustworthy knowledgeable mechanic based in Islamabad especially with good understanding of 2C's .

First of all check your injector nozzle pressure. Get a 2C repair manual or download from internet and set it accordingly. If you have a highly qualified diesel pump mechanic then tell him to adjust the pump slightly richer on fuel otherwise I wont recommend manuplating the pump. You can fit a CT9 turbo but the easiest will be to swap the internals till intake manifold from a 2CT. Once Turboed, then you MUST have to increase the diameter of the exhaust down pipe and install better flowing muffler.

Always use high quality air filter, better not to install custom cold air intake when turbo charged. Let it be in the air box. For further mods you can install an intercooler which cools down the air inlet temperature so you can run higher boost with no such chance of breakage. Also dont forget to install EGT gauge. It will show you exhaust gas temperature so you will know how much load your engine can take.

I have a 3C-T Engine. Have been trying to find a suitable EGT and Gauge, which one / make can be retrofitted and where should it be installed.

I don't know of any good brands of EGT sensors, although I can say that Banks diesel performance is a good reputed brand and has gauges that are not too expensive as compared to the competition.

As far as mounting is concerned, installing the sensor at the turbine inlet gives a much more accurate reading of temperature. However, in the case of a sensor failure, it will damage the turbocharger turbine. You can mount the sensor at the turbine outlet, but due to thermal inertia, you will not get a real-time reading of temperature. At full boost of above 1 bar, you should be looking at a stabilised temperature difference of between 110 and 150 °C between inlet and outlet temperature.
