Sir you can try camping pods in thandiani. Its pretty amazing with stunning views and completely safe for families.

I have been to murree several times. I have had bad experiences aswell.

Murree is probably the last place I would want to goto visit.

But people aren't that bad actually.

If I'm not wrong on my last visit I actually saw a walled area with a board saying "Murree camping area or something like that".

People in murree are jesei k sath wesa. Our ladies goto shops see a zillion shawls dont buy anything. Any one would get furious with such a attitude.

I mostly stay at Chinar family resorts next to PC bhurban away from the hustle bustle.

Charges are reasonable, around 3000rs per night for 2 bed pod with attached wash room.
You have to prebook from kpk tourism website and parking space is ample. You can Google for pics and other details

just want to correct that parking is ample only if you are on 4x4, dont try to take your car all the way to camping PODS, the track is too bad and cars can not ascend while coming back.. you will need to leave your car at PMA huts which is still 15-20 min walking till PODS.. this is based on visit last Oct..

Yes parking is safe. I think they charge some amount for parking.
There is kitchen facility available in pods where you can prepare your own food or you can ask them to prepare. They do bring food from thandiani bazaar if needed.
We visited 2 months ago on our pajero and took our jeep all the way to pods. Yes the road about 400 m patch is really rough but i have seen corolla grande and civic eagle eyes parked near our jeep.

This place is really soothing with stunning beauty and calm environment which you cannot find in expensive lodges of nathiagali. Staff is really good and courteous. Caretaker is ex army person a retd sobedar. Nice and upright man

i didnt stay overnigth there.. actually in Oct it was off season and there was no any tourist staying and we were the only family there, so we decided to return after spending couple of hours.. however it is wonderful place..

i was told that Car parking is safe and actually there is always some caretaker of PMA hut so there was no any concern.. further there is kitchen and you can do self cooking or you can ask someone to arrange meal and they will bring from main thandiani..

Yes there was a stove in kitchen. But we used our own. Its better if you take one with you. There was no warm water in washroom when we visited. Washroom was a bit crampy but we youngsters were okay with it that

The problem with murree is the tourists/visitors themselves.
I've been there and I once saw a married couple was walking on the mall road and guys were commenting on her in front of her husband, by God my blood was boiling and the guy just walked away cause the boys group was consist of more than 10, and i was with my brother, nothing happened. I am basically from KPK and that thing was new for me. If the same thing happened in our Shangla that would have been the last mistake/chant of that group!
Also there were boys chanting loudly "ammi g! Ammi g" referencing to a Pakistani porn video. https://youtu.be/-15aUF3ZNiw, same thing like the video but group was consist of more than 20 boys. People were just shrugging it off, but I couldn't bear this. Was thinking someone will definitely search for this and end up watching the porn instead.
Murree is a beautiful place but we as a Pakistani ruined it to the core, and now we are planning to do the same to other northern areas.
At that moment I promised to myself I will never bring my family there to stay or even spent 5 minutes.

yes, stove is there in kitchen.. washroom looked okay but no arrangement of hot water.. probably you can request to caretaker and they may arrange in bucket..
