they dont put any instant force or something...., they just produce a lot of low end torque, the kind of torque which these engines cant handle and that is wat bends the rods etc etc....
Its not necassarily the hp which destroys the engine, its the torque.....
thats the reason why many manufacturers tend to make their engines rev higher, that way the engine internals doent have to handle too much torque....see a F1 engine dyno sheet for more info....
(and they put in more cylinders to distribute the torque over a larger area...., that reduces the max amount of stress the internals have to handle...)
