As mentioned above, swapping an engine costs an arm and leg to be done correctly, 99% swaps you see are trash, you will see many situations where the ecu is stuck in cold start mode or sharing one injector to fire the other or other stupidity which the mechanic wont fix because “engine start hai”

However the owner will pay with extreme high fuel bill and also extreme short engine life.

Firstly it will have a clash with front tube. Needs modification of the pan. Secondly people mate transfer case with Toyota transmission but it needs skilled precision. I know one person in Islamabad but he charges arm to leg to design that Plate. However I have done it with casted plate with 1uzfe vvti in hilux tiger but it needed iterative correction of like 4-5 times.

First the transfer case shaft broke then oil passage was narrow it shot the transmission oil pump, then finally atlast it was fixed. But it can't handle alot of beating so precision stuff is for approx 6-7lac for just the plate.

5vz can be swapped with a ect transmission complete with a 4x4. Will have to see which transfer case it can run. But It would be a 3mil project as suggested by ata

6g74 or 6g72 , or 4m40. So my advice is never mess with a pajero's genuine system. Keep it genuine.

One of the very famous pakwheeler has done this swap. He fixed 5VZ in 2nd gen. Mitsubishi Pajero. And it was working awesome.

As far as I remember, he did 2 more similar swaps later too. Because 5VZ gives better fuel mileage, more power, nice pick up and less sound.

If you want to have an experiment, then just go for it. 5VZ engine is getting disappeared from market here.

But I guess you have to make some compromises with 4x4 system.

One person I know, he swapped 5VZ in his 98 model prado which originally came in diesel (1KZ). And his happiness was touching sky because he was very satisfied with his decision.

Well as you know technically 4x4 of Mitsubishi & Toyota’s both are not 100%same. But when we swap the Toyota’s engine into mitshubishi, then it become mandatory to made some adjustment with existing 4x4 too to connect it well with new gear and make it working. And only expert mechanics can do that job.

Before making swap, please do discuss this point with your mechanic that you want Mitshubishi’s 4x4 system to fully connect & functional with swapped gear of Toyota.

Bro name any engine in the world and I can install it in pajero. Even zulfiqar, ata everyone can do so. But we are advising him as per the experience. That what's best for him. You always give advices that that person did that, that person said it is successful. So please either experience your self and then give someone a advice.

And for your kind information 5vz is always a favourite engine in 4x4 world, especially in Toyota. And bolting it in prado is a piece of cake. As everything comes bolt on other than mount brackets. But in Jero's you do transfer case mod which becomes problematic.

When we talk about jeeps or 4x4s, then fuel consumption should be put aside. Because everyone knows that Jeeps are not fuel efficient. They are made for tougher rides and difficult paths, they have to pull load, have to roll massive tires and what not. Hence fuel efficiency factor doesn’t exist here.

Even if we take world’s most fuel efficient engine, fix it in 5-door jeep and expect that it should give us 15km/l average and also should pull the load of 5 people on board with their mountain size luggage bags, tents and food stuff too. Then it never gonna work.

Engine like 5VZ, 1UZ, 1GR, 1HZ, 1HD, 1KZ, 1KD, etc. are made for jeeps where they have good repute to handle off-road stuffs.

Here in DHA Lahore some young people have done next level craziness with their autos. Someone is using extra wider tires with his civic with lower suspension and someone is running massive set of tires in his imported American truck of Mazda or Dodge. And someone is driving his 3500cc heavy bike in the quite residential streets in wee hours.

None of them is here at forums. But it doesn’t mean people like them doesn’t exist & do crazy thing with their autos. So if someone wants to spent money to make some out of normal modifications or alteration, then its his choice. Its that simple.

I have done so many crazy things in my life and tried alot of mods and performance enhancements. But once I was in teens I did suicidal mods too. But slowly by learning the cons and pros now whenever I do mods I consider every aspect so the durability is not compromised.
People coming here have specific problems and they are obviously not teenagers going in to a rally. They need reliability and durability. So for that reason we've to stick to oem systems so longetivity is good.

Ask those guys what is the road to workshop ratio of the vehicle that has crazy mods,

E.g. the youtube supras on dynos doing 1000 hp are not drivable on the street and the engine life of those is under 100 kms then requires some work. Peeps in pk think that is has a brv ac compressor and returns 20
Km/lit on light foot and floats on the road while having starship acceleration.

The problem is that folks like you lap it up like a documentary and preach it like gospel without any more further knowledge or even attempt to get some either.
