It is possible that your low and high side valves may be leaking. You would have to check for leaks. If possible use a florescent dye

leaking schraders dont need dye, bubbles will show a leaky schrader valve instantly.

@Xulfiqar out of all my nonsense i was thinking that there should be a way to convert traditional AC System to inverter based. I believe it would take electronic TXV, DC Compressor and some work with electronics to control stuff. Do you think its doable?

do you have any Toyota Prius nearby to study. Look at ones with the watermelon shaped compressor (bijli wala compressor)

btw - cant you rent a pump? I know in USA you can rent it out from spare parts shops. - Or simply ebay/amazon a cheap vacuum pump, it'll work - you may find one on kijiji too.

I had a scrap embarco compressor out of fridge so was thinking can it make a vacuum pump, a robinair 5cfm single stage pump costs around $150 never got a chance to buy a one.

I have seem some fancy digital AC manifold gauge set which costs whooping $200, i guess not worth investing vs oldschool gauges.

those fancy gauges are for people who work on A/C stuff for a living, they are very accurate and have thermocouples too so they can display you a superheat and subcool value right there and then.

Your best bet for a vacuum system is a vacuum pump, using a refrigerator compressor is not advised as its slow and most of all a compressors job is about pressure not creating vacuum, This also kills it because of lack of oil supply in the compressor itself.

Well happened to me. On my previous 91 accord schrader valves were doing just fine no bubbles. But despite of checking everythng i was unable to find the leak. Only happened when car sits under high temp like in parking or driving.

Solution was cheap. I hooked two balloons to each side and voila they were big enough for me to consider valves bad. I checked after 1 day. Replacing them solved the issue.

Traditional AC i meant home AC.

I have a issue, my ac cooling is perfect.. Works great
But when i start my car and turn on my ac... my eyes starts to burn and tears come out of my eyes,
and this goes for only 2-3 min.. after that i wont do that again...

My car is reborn 2011

Guys got a problem with my Corolla Gli AC system and need your expert opinion about it.

A month ago my Corolla Gli's AC stopped working and only warm air started to come out. It's a 2010 model 1.3L version and AC has been working flawlessly uptil recently. Thought it ran out of gas so went to a local AC technician who I usually get my mehran AC serviced from and got complete service/cleaning and refill of gas. AC started working well although I felt a bit less cooling than before.

About a week later AC started throwing warm air again and I went to the same AC guy and he filled in a little bit gas again and told me that the compressor sensor is faulty and I should get it checked from Toyota 3S dealer. Went to Toyota Garden Motors and the technician told me after looking at the glass on the AC pipe that there is carbon in the system and that I'll have to replace every part of the AC system or else the issue won't get resolved. I was shocked to hear that everything would cost 70-80K and that there is no other solution.

I went to another local AC technician to get a third opinion and after checking in detail he said there is no carbon in system and that there might be moisture in the system and that the previous technician might not have properly vacuumed the system. He serviced the AC system again and sucked out everything from the system with a vaccum pump. Then filled with gas and everything started working again and AC started chilling as it used to before this problem occurred so I thought maybe the issue is resolved. The guy told me that if this issue comes back then either there is a leak in the system somewhere or the compressor is weak. And these made sense to me.

After a few days the same problem persisted and warm air was thrown out by AC. I did a bit of testing myself and I think the compressor might be faulty as when it turns on the AC starts to chill very good and when it doesn't the AC throws warm air. I've also noticed that when I turn on the AC and it starts to chill, if I put the blower at full speed the AC keeps chilling, but if put at 1, 2 or 3 the AC chills for a while until the compressor trips and then sometimes it starts chilling again but mostly it just throws warm air especially when car is moving but when slowed down or stopped it turns back on again. Don't know if this behavior is normal for a faulty compressor or something else might be faulty as well?

I have seen many cars get service from him. I do not take any gurantee. Its your call. I found him useful and I suggest him. I dont have any personal Gains. Simple. If you are looking for sophisticated equipments why dont you goto 3s.

1. That is not CARBON he said. Its sludge as i believe which is formed by moisture and mixing of two oil types in system Some use ND-8 oil check for your car specifications its written in hood

2. Most mechanics do not have a good vac pump which is cause of moisture in system leading to sluggish performance. NO 1.5 Ton AC Compressor does not do the job

3. If its blocked by sludge then you may need to replace condenser and evap. They are cheap you can buy it yourself.

4. Always charge by weight keep in mind NO ONE DOES THAT until or unless you do efforts for that. Otherwise do you think car was built on just ANDAZA? they check by hand ok its cooling its done. NO its not meant to be like that

I went to 3s Dealer and the mechanic there was in such a rush to get rid of me that I won't go back to get this kind of pathetic service again. Can you recommend a good AC technician who can fully diagnose the issue with my AC? Whether it's a weak compressor or sludge in the system or something else, but I want them to be knowledgeable and trustworthy.

Some have recommended to me Punjab Car AC near Ganga Ram Hospital and told me they are the best, do you have any experience with them?
