I am totally new in car detailing.After reading this thread,i really want to try this work.Need experts advice..How can i start?There are lots and lots of products and everyone wrote their experience with them.As a beginner which products should i use?Some people say turtle products are awesome some say Meguiar's etc..

Let me define the current condition of my car.

I have got honda city 2007 model(charcoal grey).The paint got very rough,dull and minor scratches.Some member in this thread suggest about NXT product to resolve the issue of minor scratches.What is the full name of it?

I've never applied any wax on my car.Due to my very busy routine i've just got sunday to do my pending tasks including my car maintenance.

I live in ISLAMABAD.I'll be very thankful to everyone of you for your guidance regarding products,prices and their availability.

Bro i would not suggest for clay bar at start, u can go for that when u have some info about it . as far as the cars condition in concerned , which shampoo or product u use for wash . ? and for wax yes NXT is good , u would b needing some MF to avoid further scratches .

Finally got time to properly detail my Mercedes. Followed the below procedures

1. Wash using Mothers Shampoo
2. Liquid Turtle Clay
3. Wash using Mothers Shampoo
4. Mothers Clay bar
5. Wash using Mothers Shampoo
6. Mothers Stage 1 Power Polish using a rotary
7. Wash using Mothers Shampoo
8. Optimum Opti Seal
9. Applied another coat of Opti Seal after 24 hours
10. Applied Mothers Reflections Advanced Tyre Care

Need an advice based on your experience. I own a metallic silver 08 vitz in MashAllah good condition. I am deciding between NXT and Ultimate Wax. I've been reading a lot about both of these on multiple forums and its actually very difficult to make out as everyone's likeness for the outcome varies. UW is ofcourse superior and more latest product of Meg. A lot of those discussions aren't silver color focussed though as 80% of the experienced detailers happen to keep darker colored cars. What I've deduced from the discussions is that NXT is suitable for lighter metallic colors where as UW is more for darker ones. NXT is slightly more easy to apply/remove than UW (which most people say streaks but thats probably the liquid version and I am after the paste one). NXT on lighter metallics gives a super gloss candy look but it doesn't have the longevity as UW. People that have done a side by side with both of these are also not able to tell much of a difference except the longevity. So, from your experience and a well prepped surface, which one would suit for the following preference:
1. Superior looks on silver metallic
2. Should last around 3-4 weeks (car isn't a daily driver) but while it lasts (with regular weekend washes), the looks shouldn't degrade in this time span.

Others are welcome to chime in but I would prefer somebody with handson experience with both these products on a silver color and if you can tell the characteristics on how one outperforms the other.
I am sure @Durrani_45 's advice (from his experience on silver cars) would be helpful too.

My vote is for Ultimate Pastewax. i have always stressed upon the fact that do panel by panel. There is no way that Ultimate Paste Wax would leave streaks is applied and removed before caking.

In lighter color, one should aim for best shine and light colors are not for producing depth. This Ultimate Pastewax produces gr8 results and last longer than NXT with more protection and shine, plus dust attraction is low if you apply ultimate pastewax.

Product used . 1 coat of NXT and 2 Coat of GC .
NXT at 2 P.M (Sat) , at 8 pm did 1st coat of GC on Sat and on Sunday at 11 Am did the 2nd coat of GC . And here are the results ..

MashAllah.. Thats a nice effort put in. A quick Question; since all the products you use have very mild cleaning abilities (polishing oils, not abbrasives), do you think layering GC over NXT would've let NXT stay underneath? Perhaps your final outcome is actually all GC with may be a very thin/no NXT coat... ?

Thanks for your gentle reply.As i have already mentioned i dint done any detailing or wash "myself" before,cuz of busy schedule.But i would love to start doing myself.These days my car goes to the service station and that 10rs car wash shampoo is used.

ustaad jee ghar jaa kaar BIG WAILAY( usually i call Big Wailaa to my Elder brother :-# as he dont do a single work when he is at home ) sai 11 min ka lecture mila and the topic was "EHSASS ZIMADAREE OF YOUR FAMILY" i.e akhriii chinotiiii (warning) milee hai kai agar aab dubara ghar sai bahar raha sunday ko tuu terii polishes wali almarii koo main nai aag laga dainee hai after the lecture of 11 min aglaa marhala tha begum sai bahiss ooo takraar kaa and you know 20 25 min kii bhaiss kai baad wooh becharee chup kaar gai yai kehtay howay kai main joo marzii kaar loan jaab bhi usman call kartaa hai saab kuch choor kar bhag jatay hooo aisaa karoo usss sai hee shahdi kaar luu and i said ok i will think.....
aafter the bhaiss oo takrar shower liya aur bindass Sleep time ....

yes GC might remove some of the NXT but its not strong enough to remove all of it

Results are outclass.

And ya, I use to get same compliments from my wife as well after hardcore detailing on my car on sundays.

Bahi jaan hum dunoo aik hee ship kai passengers jawaan hain.
usually when ever i am detailing my cars at home my wife use to come and sit near to me as she knows kai meray HALAK sai nawalaa ussee time nichay jataa hai jaab tamam cars aur bikes wash and wax hoo jain as she is use to it now after 2 years:D
but yesterday kuch aur hee maslaa thaa 30 mins kai margin sai phone call aaee subah kai 9.00 bajay kai jaldi sai DC studio poohanch jao <as i told you before kai my wife says jab bhi usman ki call aatee hai.....................> subah 9am kaa giya howaa ghar begum sai wadah kaar kai giyaa kai 2pm bajay taak wapis aa jaon gaa aur ghar hee rahaon gaa aur wapis aaya raat koo 10.30 pm par
aagay aab aap samjhdaar hain aur samjh saktay hain kai kiyaa kuch sunanay koo mila hoo gaa BIG brother sai aur home minister sai ....
