I've been using turtle ice wash as a mf detergent. It works alright but mf gets slightly stiffer after every wash. Have you ever used Woolite(white and blue packing)? A lot of people on AG were using it and i thought i should give it a try sometime....

normally i have observed,cars are already shiny,wax doesnt adds much of shine,if you just wash it you will still get same shine
if you try wax on cars that arent shiny they'll still not give shine after wax
for example even my car gives shine after wash n not wax n those parts which arent much shiny remain the same after wax as well
where as new corolla's even though being washed in parking lots with dirty cloth n dirty water n full of swirls yet shiny

Bro, paint prep determines the outcomes. Using a dedicated compound/polish on a dull paintwork and protecting it with a wax will rejuvenate the paint and add that amazing shine.
I have also seen brand new rollas getting abused by improper washing etc techniques and having swirls. The paint is new so it will give real deep reflections for first few years then it'll get dull, dull and duller provided the owner doesn't give a *** about detailing :P.

lets see when next lines appear next time,i know only thin layer is needed to be applied but there was some issue of uneven application after which i tried a little more wax n pressure on pad while applying it which seemed to solve the issue
wax is visible on bonnet trunk etc as compared to side panels where i just apply it assuming its applied if i cant see it
well what do u suggest the waiting time for these waxes: meg #26,GC,black box cleaner wax n carnuba wax?
i think atleast both the meg's waxes can be left for even 1hr
it doesnt takes alot of time applying wax so i normally wax whole car before buffing
i wash the pad after every wax session
sometimes while waxing water appears on some panel which the pad absorbs n then pad application becomes smooth,n i thought it shouldnt get wet but now i'll try it next time
btw even if there's dirt on car like dust then washing the car or wet wipe or detailer wipe shouldnt be harmful after all those are the cleaning methods for it,i dont use detailer wipe with wet wipe either wet wipe or detailer wipe....there are no white salts so far that i noticed

well it went to service when i wasnt able to wash due to exams so yea car wash as well n with the surf or whatever they use
i didnt even knew when dad took da car for service so it was done,i thought i'll start waxing from scratch,the same way as i got the car
for side panels,there isnt much space in parking
i checked all boxes,like black box n of GC,they havent mentioned the time,normally i leave it for 15min.
i liked water technique so much that every time i put wax on car for every panel i spray twice on it first
i dont know if that effects badly but spreads wax pretty good,making those big smooth wax circles

so if we apply GC n then #26 top of it,will that seal the wax,i.e act as sealant?

gave a wet wipe today n then treated with #26 hoping that combination of both waxes this way would do some wonder atleast?
this time i wiped panel by panel n applied wax n buffed same way though that would suite more to black box wax esp cleaner wax because carnuba wax didnt felt hard even after 20min
khair i finished buffing n clouds roared right then,had a look at sky n it was full of black clouds,forgot to check forecast today for rain though it still isnt showing any rain lol
n it started raining too
but i hope that these waxes esp this wax right before rain should keep it less dirty

u suggested liquid soap,i thought if that can work then why not the soap itself,tried lux soap on pad n it worked quite well

cleaner wax is to clean the surface from contaminants,to prepare your car surface for applying wax

gold class is a natural carnuba wax that you can keep using regularly,i think its good for dark colours,dont know about light colours

turtlce ice polish n meg NXT wax are synthetic waxes which are sealants,to preserve wax for longer time than if natural wax applied alone

dont know much about ultimate wax but i think it good for light colours like silver

so today i clayed just the bonnet,that big smudge disappeared n was visible in very close sight only n that too very light,as for those small circles,few of them remained but got light as well,i have tried capturing them,you can see in the pic,btw was there any need to wax it right after claying?
i washed full car after an hour n then waxed it with GC
this time when i dried the car,there were water drops dried on an area of around 6 * 6 inches in middle though there was nothing after drying the clay wash
i keep sprinkling water on every panel while washing car so none dries,n even if it would have dried it should clear on wiping wet towel n then dry side,but it didnt though after buffing the wax it got light
now i tried what you advised,i sprayed some water on the pad before applying wax,felt good,now in middle of bonnet i started feeling if wax application is missing from some spots,so tried more pressure n then used more wax but that wasnt helping too much,i used very little wax like a drop for each time so i again sprayed twice on pad n this time it starting big smooth circles
so now every time i applied a drop of wax i sprayed water twice on pad before that n that made quite big smooth wax circles
i dont know if at any place wax application became uneven because i cant see it on side panels nor on roof much,so i noticed it on trunk,it started to become less at the other side when i applied more pressure n it was fine
now as soon i finished applying wax on whole car,i started buffing it without any wait time,now when i finished finishing off from bonnet i noticed some black left over at different places on whole bonnet
i tried no pressure,light to mild n more pressure but didnt helped much so i left it as it is....i couldnt notice such things on anywhere else though there may or may not be,i tried looking on trunk but couldnt find any,i was buffing around 6pm so no sun...
also i noticed those black lines ar edge of bonnet near headlight,i tried to cature all these left overs including black lines,but i think u cant see black lines as they were visible on some angle very closely,it was like difference of paint colour kind of thing,only a thin line at edge,lets see if you can notice them
i didnt applied excessive wax n i buffed without any wait time n its GC which can wait even 1hr n buff off easily,i thought i'll wet wipe later,that may clear it along wid dust that'll be sticked on those areas
i noticed these spots thing before as well,lets see when dust settles then if it shows dust in that pattern which it used to long time back not very long though
when all this happens like those dried water spots n then this i think what the hell,why dont i let the driver wash n wax it n relief myself if i have to face this every time :mad:
khair GC brought really a colour,bonnet got shiny as compared to its dull look
tire foam finished,i was thinking about endurance gel by meguiars but then thought the current one STP tire foam also makes the tires quite black so maybe i'll stick to it,it finished today while applying to last tire with small patches left

- btw when i got the tints,there were small water droplets dried on all 4 windows of shampoo or whatever,now tints are removed still not gone so i should use vinegar solution or which thing?
also when windows used to get misty in winters from inside,i used a cloth to clean,well there are some lines left of it inside on one window as well,when the tints were removed,i used a wet water magnet towel inside on windows,it got black n still those black marks are not gone

Yes you need to wax car right after claying at it removes previously applied wax. Try to be thorough in claying.....if those spots and that smudge got light thats a good sign but they are not completely gone so use a mild polish to completely remove them as it would get harder to remove as time passes. Don't wax over those spots as they would get trapped under a layer of wax, getting much harder to remove; if you already have waxed then wash the car and use a polish or more abrasive product to completely remove it.

Just make sure car is in shade and panels are cool to touch otherwise water will evaporate forming those spots. Wash the car gently and slowly making sure you cover every panel; redo a panel if its showing spots. By the way, wax will repel water so sheet the water off next time you wash which leaves only minimal water on panels.
Drying a car 100% is very important before waxing; just use less water on pad before wax is applied on pad.

Yaar you have a black car!!!!!!!!!!!! Its supposed to show everything; it will show wax, just move your head until you see wax application. Were those wax marks on bonnet or those black lines you were talking about? I'll post a pic tomorrow morning: i think i know what those black lines are......
Oh ya i remember you used to get those wax marks pretty often. They usually come with waxing a warm-hot panel, the waxing sponge itself etc. Do a detailer wipe later on; it may help.

Detailing requires patience; do it because you love doing it. Just "keep calm and wax" !

I think tint glue is left behind; you can use 50:50 water and vinegar with newspaper to remove the glue from tint. Or you can squirt a teaspoon of dishwash detergent in 500ml of water in spray bottle and spray on window. Then scrape with old credit card or the squeegee for applying tint (if you have it). Wipe clean with a wet cloth. If you have a dirty mf i.e for dirty jobs use that.

i dont have any polish but i might get mothers step 1 polish for step2 hand glaze to give a depth to my car if that'll work on this paint

now i remember,i went out before washing the car,but that was like 10min drive,though bonnet might be hot,but i had to leave again in 1hr45min n i wanted to wash n wax so i started right after i came back
today when i waxed it after wet wipe,i did bonnet at very end so it can cool down
i wash car panel by panel n then whole car at the end but the spots become visible only after drying otherwise i would clay those parts during the wash process
i tried sheeting effect(keep the water hose at 90 degree straight on put water from top to down),i use full pressure though motor while washing i dont know if sheeting method works fine for me,but it gets dried easily too
i do dry water completely but the half bottom of door at the ends keeps dropping water no matter what :mad:
n sometimes the water comes out from the ducts on the bonnet when car goes somewhere :mad:

btw remember i told there were left off of the wax when i buffed but the dust settled was plain though there was circular dust on trunk n roof lol
wax marks n lines were on bonnet,lines at end of bonnet near headlights
yea i thought the same that water wipe will clean off that circular dust lol
i like detailing thats why i still do it after all these issues
for dirty jobs like extremely low panels of doors n trunk i dont use mf,i use some ordinary cloth first
but i dont risk my water magnet or washmitt cleaning those areas so i dont even dry that last end
i asked the guy who tinted,he used blade in certain angle that cleaned off all those bubbles,but obviously i cant use it,for the rest he said,use the thing u use for washing dishes

what do u suggest for interior,i dont have any product for that
i simply use dry simple yellow cloth for that,once i tried that wet which started leaving its hairs :S

for rims,i just wet cloth,n it washes off the dirt,most of it,for side wall of tire i use big brush but when the dry they dry up as brown so i just use stp tire foam that does the magic,but tire from middle still stays dirty since i dont clean it but i think that'll again get dirty so no use maybe

Use #26 a few hours after GC has cured. Its a hybrid so it can act as a sealer, though not as well as a sealant. It sounds like a good combo, #26 being a pure wax.
If you have time constraints then do whole car at once then start buffing wax in the order you applied it. But if you have time, then do half car first then buff wax and do rest of car. Yes, cleaner waxes suit more to panel by panel waxing.

Using a compound depends from car to car. Paint is thin; it may look like it can be compounded every month with no fear but its thin on every car so i wouldn't use an abrasive product until its really necessary like if paint is getting really dull or if there's a hard stain/ waterspot thats not removed from claying/mild polish. Your car looks great; yo don't need compound, just wax it every week and you'll be fine.
