Have you tried anything yourself to restore the shine? If its been weeks then either you get it compound by rotary or you try to wet sand it with 2k grit followed by compounding and polishing.....any idea how many layers did the painter spray? And was clear coat/lacquer sprayed?

it was repainted,dont know what u mean by spray n clear coat
obviously they spray,n it was 2 layers
half was painted,n then full panel was sprayed with lacquer
i dont have any machine so no compounding or polishing by myself nor i am any expert to do these things
i'll see that they restore the shine in next session but em worried if shine again goes away

I m new to this thread. In 4th online get together of pakwheels i got chance to talk vague_one
I was a bit concerned about cleaning fabric of seat. I asked Usman Bhai the same and he advised to use All Puropse cleaner.
Being novice to detailing I was not familiar with product, visited a super store and found only this.

Tried it as directed by Usman Bhai and results were much better than what I was expecting.

seats were having lot of stains & oil marks, I forgot to take pics before cleaning, having only this one

and after using MPC

Please note that car is 88 model with original interior (H)

Thank you for your detailed reply. I actually am unable to do the detailing myself, since 1. I'm a novice at this stuff, and 2. I hardly ever will have the time to do it. So I wanted to know if I can actually get it done safely, in Pindi or Islamabad.

As for the car, I've a 2013 Civic Oriel in Albaster Silver Metallic color. I do have a few mf clothes lying around, and mother's shampoo and cancuba wax.

You do have the starter level stuff then and Mother is a very decent brand. A few more things like an interior cleaner + a detailer and you should be good (considering you're someone that doesn't want to go into too many details). Mothers also has a very nice showtime detailer so you can stay within the same company stack or even get the meguiars ultimate detailer. The detailer will help you keep your car clean (almost like just waxed) between the car washes/wax sessions. Its also required because carnauba wax attracts a lot of dust, so after you've waxed, the detailer will reduce the dust magnet effect. Using a detailer wouldn't come with extra burden. Much like you dry dust your car, just have the detailer in hand, mist spray and clean with the MF. If you're having someone else do it, just let them know to spray it lesser (1 strong mist with a moving hand from a 2-3 feet distance.. For bigger panels like the hood/roof, 2 sprays would do).
For interior you can buy meguiars ultimate interior detailer.

Where do you live ? My office boy (very reliable) goes to my colleague's houses and wash/wax/interior clean it on weekends for a nominal fee. Unless you live in the outskirts of rwp, I can connect him with you if you're interested.

I'm afraid my location will be in the outskirts (Bahria Town). Thanks for the details on things that I'd get for the interior. I am willing to pay for the guy's transport charges, if he's good and can travel to BT. I can take care of the interior with the things that you've mentioned, it's the exterior washing/waxing and detailing bits, which I believe will be hard for me to personally undertake.

Ok nevermind what i said. Since its black fresh paint its still soft....the more time passes the more hardened it will get so the next compound session may determine if it will shine afterwards. If you're still not satisfied after the next session, then do the compounding and polishing yourself. One more ques: was it bake painted or just painted and let to dry in sun?

Reasons for dullness can be a lot. The important thing is the next compound session after which you will test whether it gets dull again or not. If it gets dull again theres something wrong with paint but dont worry lets hope it doesnt happen.

After painting, if a panel is set up in front of heater in a room(at paint shop) then this is a bake paint. This process is done so the thinner and other solvents can evaporate at a higher rate than exposing to only sunlight. This heating makes curing(hardening) time of paint much faster. If your panel was dried under sun then you may even have to wait even 60 days before waxing.

Meguiar's ultimate paste wax costs 3.2k in optimum motorsports/karachi
It would be better to use paste wax with hand and liquid with an orbital polisher which is much safer than a rotary.
Bhai jan i know soft 99 gives a slippery and shiny surface but it is just an overpriced version of kosmic kangroo- It is extremely Abrasive and will slowly eat your cars clear coat eventually destroying your car's finish within two years. The smooth and shiny surface is actually the fresh layer of clear coat which will finish someday. I'm new to detailing just like you but i would suggest you to use turtle wax products-you'll really feel a difference.

how much did u get this for sir? is there any other better solution to cleaning fabric seats. mine have alot of stains too and seats are grey so theyr quite visable.

I recall to have seen it at Metro ISB somewhere in between 400-500 range. Considering a lot of people dont have any idea what this thing is and does, chances are its still lying around.
You can however consider looking into 3M all purpose cleaner which can be used with several dilution ratios for various cleanings (interior plastic, seats, under carriage, stain marks etc). I am not sure but it should be available at Shahid autos or Al sheikh autos (the shop next to shahid autos) in F-10 ISB (street just next to the shell pump).

Shahid auto doesnt have meguiars now u have to visit the shop beside it al sheikh traders or u can visit sarmad drcoration at f10 caltex pump he has the best rates for car care products.

Shahid autos may have run out of stock, I did see Meg products (though in limited quantity) at his shop a couple of months back. Al shaikh trader does have a very good stock though and very competitive. Didn't know the caltex pump's accessories shop also has these.
RacingDubai in I8 also has good pricing for a few products but not all. Al shaikh has worked well for me over all BUT only when its owner yousuf is on shop who I have good acquaintances with now. His worker doesn't know the prices so goes for as high as he can
So the trick is that where ever you go, you need to know the price range to be able to get the right price else they keep fluctuating prices from customer to customer
