Bro on the back of the Colour Magic bottle there are a couple of shades given...you can place the pack alongside yer car an see if you`ve gotten any of them....though I think there is one in dark grey !

In my experience, I've found Al sheikh traders (the shop next to shahid autos) to contain more stock (mothers, meguiars, turtle, 3m, all types of MFs chinese and branded) at all times and hardly seen him out of stock. Also, I've found him to be more reasonable in pricing (Rs 100-200 better for 75% of the things). You just have to make sure you go in the evening hours and deal directly with the owner Yusuf.

I have spent time talking to that guy and I have bought things from him and they were as good as they should be. No signs of anything visible to the product, latest product container shapes, expected outcomes. He doesn't carry 3M in abundance, 2-3 bottles of everything but has meguiars mainly and turtle. Not quite sure how you gauge the fakeness but they seemed alright to me. Bought so many different things for myself and a lot of my friends, no complains whatsoever. This guy likes to talk a lot and shown me several of his invoices, how he sells all around and was mentioning of selling 8 lacs of detailing stuff every quarter. I usually take time buying things and I've seen how big a customer base he has given the 30-40 minutes I am there. There are a handful of parties that import meguiars, he gets some of it from salman (from whom shahid autos also gets) and majorly from another party based in karachi (I recall him showing the bilti records as well).

So I dont think so you should be calling them as fake based on a one off experience or someone elses word of mouth only. I am not related to that shop in anyway and buy things evenly from shahid autos too and hence doing the comparison. So after having convinced non care-care-taking friends and colleagues to take care and do it with the right products, I help them to the next level of getting things for them too (its very near to my office) and thats where my experienced is based on.

That is actually what i meant with basing your opinion on someones word of mouth. My comments are based on personal experience and satisfaction. Me and my colleagues have personally used his stuff (almost the entire range of meguiars) and have had no issues at all.

Is it advisable to give imported compound polish, clay kit etc to a good denter and get all the work done? I've never used compound myself so an experiment might leave some swirls and other marks on the car.
Secondly, unbranded micro fiber cloths are also available in the market. Im sure they r better than ordinary Rs 30 cloth but are they equally good as the branded ones? So far I've tried Armour All and Formula 1 wash & waxes. Is there any visable difference between these 2 brands and Mother's California & McGuiers?

Thank u so much for sharing such valuable info. U mentioned that never apply dry cloth on a dusty car. Does it really leave scratches on the car? I can notice some scratches of cleaning cloth which are removable by ArmourAll liquid polish followed by ArmourAll butter smooth wax.
By the way cleaning a dusty car with a cloth is easier than wasing it all over and then drying it. Can't we use a soft microfiber cloth to remove dust? Does a microfiber leave scratches on a dusty car?

i have a question which i am sure will be usefull for many....when we service our cars is it necessary to apply oil underneath the body and over the engine bay???? what if i just wash it properly and then do not apply oil because i think oil makes it more dusty and dirty after 10 days of driving..experts please guide what is to be done???

This is where a quick detailer (QD) comes in. It comes in sprayable form. Its a lubricant that when misted upon the car's panel (with dust) and wiped with a microfiber, will reduce the probability of the dust particles scratching your cars surface. The QD wipe is used between car washes e.g. over night accumulated dust. It should not be used when its more like a settled dirt e.g. after a rain etc . Using a QD almost brings back the waxed look of your car and is something done after a wax session, a wash session as well (if its already waxed). ArmourAll, Turtle, Mothers, Meguiars all have QDs in their range.

Your thinking is right. Its not oil, its mostly petrol but both would attract dust since they aren't removed with teh water wash. As discussed recently in one of the QnA post with ahmad bhai, you could get yourself some APC (all purpose cleaner), dilute it 1:15 and spray that to the undercarriage (you shouldn't spray it on engine bay as it can get to the electrical components and harm, for engine you need to put it in a spray bottle and then use the brushes to massage/clean it).

I have this car for almost a year now. Previously I've worked with charcoal grey and deep blue colors.

I used Meguiars NXT Generation Car Wash & NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 (paste) for the first time.

Earlier I was using Meguiars 26 Hi Tech yellow wax (paste) on it.

My car has never been to a service station for a wash but only for the servicing of floor areas once every three months.

It takes me around 5 hours to wash and wax it.

I do all the work manually, without polishers and bla bla

I used a kinda WOWO technique as it was a bit warm during that time of the day and the wax was drying a touch quicker!

and from last 2 years he is only one and only official 3m importer retailer and distributor
