Car Care and Detailing Dreams (Part 2)

Although Ahmad bhai usually entertains newbie's i hope he doesn't mind me replying (A).

Welcome to the world of detailing !
First of all tell me your budget; meaning how much money can you spend on detailing. And which Mother's wax did you buy(full name please). How old is your car?

Being a student myself i can understand the low budget issue which won't be a problem. Before moving on, i'll advise you stop using cheap cloths for washing/cleaning/waxing the car as they cause the painful swirls and scratches you see. No dry dusting as this is a major cause of swirls on brand new cars......And say NO to local brands i.e cosmic, formula 1 as they are a waste of money.
Instead of cheap cloths you'll be using microfiber cloths which when used properly won't cause swirls and also are a great way to buff off wax, wash/dry the car etc. When washing a car its best to do the tires and wheel arches first. Always use a quality car wash with a wash mitt and wash car using the two bucket method. The 2 bucket method involves one bucket of car wash(diluted according to instructions on bottle) and one bucket of water only. Dip a clean wash mitt into the car wash bucket, do a panel(starting from roof), rinse the mitt in the water bucket, squeeze excess water and do the process again with another panel. So easy . Dry the car thoroughly and use your favourite wax. Your car is white so its better not to use carnauba waxes all the time as they may leave a yellowish film on the paint(its normal) so the use of sealants/synthetic waxes is recommended.

For plastic parts(side mirror, grill etc) you can use interior or trim protectants and other stuff. Get an interior cleaner/protectant and a separate microfiber for interior only. First wipe it clean or if its stained use a detergent first then use interior protectant. For chrome always use wet microfiber; it should never be dry otherwise swirls on chrome. Waxes can be used on bare metal but they don't bond as well as they do to paint. For windshield i love to first clean major dust/dirt/bird droppings with microfiber etc before using 1:1 white vinegar + water with newspaper. It makes the glass sparkle. There are other options such as dedicated glass cleaners but stay in budget for now and expand it as you move on. Clean the wiper rubber too while you're at it.

Can you please tell us where did you read about Sealant/Synthetic wax? A link will be highly appreciated. However, most of others agree that there is no such thing in actual.

I applied it as described on the bottle and by using some instructions from the internet. Applied a small amount of ultimate compound on the foam applicator and using my my four fingers i evenly applied medium pressure on the applicator and applied it. This was my first time so i wasnt really sure to how much time i need to keep working the product. I only did 4 to 6 passes.

Would like if you can tell me how to use the product.

4-6 passes by hand with a yellow applicator wont really break down the SMAT diminishing abrassives. So in most likelihood, not doing it properly or leaving it half way through would leave marring on the surface. When you keep working it in, thats when the abrasives break down and result in a smooth glossy surface. Ahmad bhai can probably guide you on how many passes by hand would typically be required.
Incase you have anyone coming from US/UK, get yourself the LC CCS euro hand applicator light cut which are made from the same material as their polishing pads, very ergonomic with palm pressure than finger pressure (which can be uneven) and should be suitable for the job.

Aun bhai explain you well. its true synthetic waxes dont attract much dust as well longer in life compare to natural waxes so its all depend upon u i.e u like longer protection or best looks of car ? synthetic waxes give high reflections and longer life, while natural waxes give depth , deep gloss , richness in paint. since ur car is black and 7 years old so definatly its black paint in dry shape and require natural oils / waxes. i would propose u to keep the car skin on natural wax as one u have mother's just buy one detailer spray and after wax apply detailer spray wipe , detailer spray having lot of water and some wax and silicon which will help to neutarilze the surface and wont attract much dust. since u using mother wax so u can opt mothers detailer spray or u can buy armorall detailer spray price may be 550 to 600 at hyper star, its good value for money.

u can also buy armorall shampoo its coat effective as well as armorll tier spray

about microfibers chinese made good quality microfiber cloth u can get 300 to 350 or meguiars supreem shine pack of 3 roughly about rs 1500

bhai jan synthetic car sealants are for longer protection and totaly safe for any age of car skin, u can use synthetic wax or sealant without any issues , infect car sealant in base of natural wax give better protection and far better looks

just start from shampoo wash/wax/ detailer wipe than gradually upgrade with u clay bar and glazing and sealants etc

Unless you have an electrical polisher, I wouldn't advise you to use these by hand. Specifically m105 has non diminishing abrasives, so you may see a lot of unpleasant results that you won't be able to balance out with m205.
You would probably have a better chance of a better outcome with Meg ultimate compound and ultimate polish as those are consumer / user friendly versions that can be used by hand as well with reasonable outcomes.

good enough for starters?
can it damage paint like other machines or not?
since u get only polishing pad so how much will waxing pad cost,n can i use waxing pad for like gold class,#16 n 3m's performance finish,one pad for all?
how much would a drill machine cost suitable for this?
5700 alone for da system was quite attractive but drill n pad is gonna make it till 10k

now when i have finally washed it,i noticed some lines on the hood,took a few pics today,they havent gone by wash atleast,so clay is the only option?
i dont even understand how i got these lines,in a curve
i am not even using a cloth to cover the car as it'll have dust that can scratch the car
