Car Care and Detailing Dreams (Part 2)

Hey Guyz,

My new Honda city would be here in 20,25 days...Polished Metal metalic color (fancy name of graphite gray color) .... just suggest me should i consider detailing of exterior and interior of new car. If yes can someone recomend stuff to be used and how to use sorry for being stupid but i am novice when it comes to detailing.......

Congrats for the new car. The caring of car before its delivery is not your detailing interest instead its an excitement of your new car.

I am also noob in this, so gurus can help you choosing the best products for your upcoming beauty.

This car is a daily runner. Sea-view k saamney poora din dhoop aur matti mein.
Have a look at the meter..

Headliner? Do you mean the roof?- That is a 50/50 shot of the cleaned ad uncleaned part of the roof. Sorry for the bad masking tape and photography..

Yes by headliner i meant roof. I was not asking about the cleaning work. I was asking that this headliner is not the one which comes ff. in ff headliner the material is like something foamy type and side A-pillars are also not covered.

First i sprayed the car very lightly with water. (Body, wheel wells, Engine bay).
Washed the tires with surf excel:P.
Sprayed the Wheel wells and engine bay with presoak.
In the meantime i washed the body with turtle platinum series wash.
Then i took a toothbrush and scrubbed the engine bay.
Then hosed off everything.
Dried the car body first. Door jambs cleaned.
Floor mats washed with surf.
Dried the engine bay. Turtle ice paste wax applied on the engine bay paint, air-filter case and tappet cover.
Applied platinum series paste wax. (All with hands) Buffed with a mf cloth.
Sprayed the tires with armorall tire foam.
Sprayed the dashboard with dilute shampoo water, followed by turtle ice interior detailer.
Used astonish carpet and upholstery cleaner on the roof and door cards.
And enjoyed a bottle of coke.

Bro, Congrats on gettin a new car, May Allah bless you with safe journeys on it.....for the basics youll need a shampoo, wax some microfibres and an interior detailer.....put in a budget here an itll be easier to point out stuff for you !

Nice work boy! Fusion of the high end an desi range ! Paint clarity accounted for an confirmed......the swirls do need some tendin to....but if yer ok with em, alls good bro! The roof job is preety neat, love the diff coming out !

I should go for turtle products

the turtle ice shampoo is a good thing, i use it myself, but don't go for the wax from turtle.
get a ultimate wax from meg atleast, or if you are short on budget, PM aerojet and request him to source you a pack of Finish Kare 1000p. Its about 2k plus minus some, and it will last a long time for you and its a good synthetic wax.

The above product is being recommended after reading your replies. if you need to try the wax, let me know.
ALSO DO GET GOOD MICROFIBER CLOTHS. let me know if you cant source it yourself. Go to Shahid Autos in F-10 he is a reasonable person.
Meanwhile, come visit me and i will lend you some good mothers/turtle/megs wax for the time being. R18 is a good car and should look the part after all the time and effort spent on it for detailing.

Aamir bhai, bacho ko abhi nahi pata chale ga k ap ne mazaq nahi kia
and when the OCD gets to drooling point only then one gets to know, that one does not apply waxes after reading directions, but applies and watches the skin softly creasing with the fingertips ever so slightly and amends the what and how to be applied that best gives out the silkiness and softness and liquidness one desires and dreams off
then one does not know if a sealant has to go on top or a wax is t0 be the one on top

the durability argument is for those of us who apply once then forget to apply again and only like to wash it. Basically for those who are not OCD sufferers and treat our cars as cars and yes for them one should prepare the surface gracefully and perfectly and then do it wax/oil free and apply sealant, let it cure properly then apply wax for more detail and depth and looks. then keep on washing every week and apply wax again.

i would have replied your answers but this is a contributing thread and to get to know more, you should first go through a lot of the pages
trust me it will be worth it
other than that, go though the thread 1 of car detailing (link in first post) go through the reading material, slowly and thoughtfully
Then estimate your budget and get the things you need and can get within that budget.
No one would be able to recommend without this budget thing
and everyone is a novice here, some are better at it then others so don't worry

interior detailers generally have cleaning ability in them and do update that you did properly clean the shampoo solution and did not left it out on the dashboard. These things look really nice on the stuff as long as they have water content, but when they try they really hurt the material
