Car Care and Detailing Dreams (Part 2)

Ok bro, it was very tiring process but the outcome was superb. Love the new look of my ride MashAllah. Forget to take pictures of interior however, the interior was glowing and stains from seats, carpet, roof and door sides are completely removed. Pls guide, how to clean the layer of dust from AC grills, engine bay and sides of fenders which can be seen while doors open. Thanks

For ac grills you will need detailing brushes...
Engine bay-
Cover ecu with a plastic shopper
Lighly mist the engine bay with water
Spray degreaser
Agitate areas with toothbrush or paint brush
Engine bay detailing is very lengthy so work area by area.
Pay attention to nooks and crannys
Hose of everything
Dry
Coat with wax(optional)

Door jambs-
Wash with shampoo solution in spray bottle
Spray water to rinse the shampoo
Dry
( you can dress the rubber channels in you like)

pardon my ignorance but according to my knowledge clay kit includes clay bar+lubricant
1.what then would be the benefit of an individual clay bar since you can buy a clay bar only as well......is it for those who have left over lubricant from previous application or it is available so you can use it without or any other lubricant?
2.can i buy individual clay bar and use detailer spray as a lubricant?
3.can i buy individual clay bar and use my homemade lubricant receipe of which is a s follows(i cam across it on a dedicated detailing forum)
70 % isopropyl alcohal+30% distilled water+2-3 drops of detergent

Aoa.
-Started detailing by spraying dilute presaok on the wheel arches.
-Rubbed off dirt using a bucket of water and a cheap towel ( I was scared of the honey-bees in the garden so i couldnt use the hose:P)
-Washed with turtle rinse free wash and wax
-Waxed with meguiars ultimate paste wax
-Vacuumed the interior
- Washed the floor mats with astonish carpet and upholstery cleaner ( last night)
- Cleaned the door panel fabrics with astonish carpet and upholstery cleaner
- Cleaned the dashboard with turtle ice interior care wipes - They are good at cleaning but they dry quickly and once they lose their wetness, they start to streak and require too much force.
- The wipe dried and i had to continue with turtle ice spray protectant. I liked it as it left a nice, matte finish and brought out some serious dirt and oily stuff. Has a pleasant smell too.
- Conditioned the wiper tray with Turtle trim wax

Total time taken- 4 hours.

Lubricant is must for clay bar but No to detailer spray + clay bar

If you are getting only clay bar cheaper than the full set & want to test the recepie as you said its from trusted Detailing forum than go ahead (but use shampoo instead of detergent & more than 2-3 drops use 2 tea spoons

First try a single panel & keep the panel good moist if you & result is satisfy goo ahead ( before & after bagiee test will help)

Meray bhai darasal humaray haan masla thora sa yeh hai keh hum log kisi ka bhi lal muh dekh kar na apnay aap ko peetna shuru kar daitay hain...MashAllah bolnay ki toufeeq zara kam hi hoti hai.....Allah aap ko apni hifazat mai rakhay.....for the love of it....it takes time for a person to collect the complete gear for a detail, an then take out time for a full session, an build up on it weekly........its not a one night wonder.....keeep at it bro, dont be disheartened.....give sadqa regularly an lets this coure curing up ! When it does come back with a repaint.....you`ll be gettin into some very serious detailing stuff ! Get ready fella....your time to shine is right around the corner !

How was the rinse free wash ? Total amount of water you used ? Ease of usage ? The results speak for themselves though, rarely seen this shade in such a look ! Impressed ! MashAllah!

ohh merye peyare bhayio dont use such high words for my work , muje pata hai being senior citizen u all appreciate my efforts but this giving pproblems to my some " love one" and getting comments from their fake id's and even same IP address

Jinaab, respect your work, and often see your posts on this thread and otherwise on PW - you have a keen eye for what works, and I know you get some of the best products available, both for your own use, as well as others' benefit as well.

That said, was quite taken aback with the above comments by yourself, and feel they do not suit a man of your say, stature, at least in detailing. If there are haters, let them be. Why bring yourself down to anyone's level?

And if someone is bothering you, a face to face confontration is always a better bet. Substantiate your claims to their wrongdoings with proof, if any.

Moreover, I for one, opt to keep this thread aloof from any derogatory remarks to or against anyone. This is a Detailing thread, and for all lovers of detailing, there is nothing we want to see more on theese multiple pages, but Detailing.

1. A clay kit is meant more to give you whatever is needed to do the claying (i.e. clay bar + lubricant without which the clay can mar the surface). The same manufacturers (e.g. meguiars) also sell individual clay bars since people dont always need lubricant with the emerging trend of the use of no rinse solution, waterless wash products and diluted QD (which are highly economical than the lubricant).

2. As above in #1, yes you can. Just make sure the lubricant you prepare is slick and offers a free flow to the clay bar. Always do a test spot before going big and notice any surface marring the clay may cause. If you use a QD, you can dilute it a bit as well as you dont really needs its cleaning/polymer ability, rather a slick solution.

3. I dont think 70% IPA should be the right concentration here. IPA is typically use to get rid of any protection/oils and someone using it may be killing two birds with a stone. But this strength of IPA would be very harmful for your hands and with a rubber glove, the clay bar would be too sticky to it and may be dropped by hand (making it useless). Use car shampoo (1-2 tbs).

used roughly 8 liters of water.. it's really easy.. its like "geela kapra sooka kapra" (with wash-mitt and mf towel offcourse)
