Yup I did and texted you already.
As far as IPA goes there are a few things you should consider.
- What level of detailing are you going on ?
The reason why I am asking this is IPA strips down every bit of oil on your clear coat even in a concentration <20%. There are very few products that recommend IPA as a part of the detailing procedure most notably Opti-seal so that the sealant properties are best achieved. Its relatively difficult to push those polishing oils back into the paint unless you are using a very good glaze like the Meg DC Polish (Step2). Secondly it is very easy to start maring a soft paint when you do an IPA rub down if you have higher concentration as IPA further softens the paint. What are you using as an applicator ?
Make sure you use 100% pure distilled and if possible deionized water.
- Which paint surface are you attempting the detail on ?
Give this a special consideration especially if the paint is old or the clear coat has already taken some cutting.
- What products are you using ?
If you want to use a Natural carnauba wax eventually and no mention of a synthetic sealant, I dont see a particular reason for using it. If you are using a glaze which you most likely will be, its going to decrease the depth of the paint which you will achieve with it initially.
Take everything into consideration.
I would recommend using a good shampoo and give the car a good wash after the compounding procedure so that you get every bit of residue off rather using IPA.
Rest is your choice.
