Question for the pro's had my car repainted and the outcome had considerable orange peel due to a improper hardner usage on the clear coat phase. The painter corrected it with rotary buffer and cutting inducing swirls and probably going through a lot of the clear coat itself. The car is expected to go through a sanding and clear coat removal and reapplication process. The painter will not be allowed to apply his buffer to my car again. I still expect some form of orange peel will still come. Has anyone here worked with orange peel and what is the best way to get rid of it assuming I have access to a DA. I understand there are two different approaches the denim pad plus m100/m105 approach or the wet sanding approach through 3m trizact sanding pads. Would love to know which of these is more appropriate or more successful for folks here?

P.S we all know the prep standard of the local painters right down to their equipment is mostly lousy so I can't let him level my paint work if it happens to have orange peel.

A Bit of Paint Correction: Ever since I got the van back from the paint shop, the blue part of the van has not sat well with me. There is some kind if "fluffy" orange peal going on. The off white part is perfect. I went back to the shop and expressed my concerns. The painter guys explanation as to why the off white was so good compared to the blue was that there are more pigments needed to make up the blue so it will have this funny orange peal. Yea right! so I thought there is no need to argue.…

Glaze mainly has fillers and glazing oils and sometimes the cleaners too, that's why it is supposed to clean the products beneath it. So technically you heard right. But you are not supposed to use it every month or every wash.
Actually you will soon have imperfections in the paint again, introduced by environmental factors in day to day use. Then its the best route to mask those minor imperfections for a just detailed finish. You will need it after 6 months till then the jet seal may not be as strong and important for you as it is today.
So my suggested route for a newbie like you is after 6 months glaze it and then wax it or jet seal it again. And repeat it every 2-3 months or in case of jet seal 3-6 months

You can wax every month but that's laborious. Extend your waxing interval with use of qd and spray wax (whenever you get your hands on) or hydro sealants in place of spray wax.
For qd I always recommend carpro Ech2o or dodo juice basis of bling, both being cost efficient. Sonax bsd also qood

The Ech2O will give you the best bang for your buck. Elixir would give you a bit better look, but the difference will be almost next to none. I would say go with the concentrated version of Ech2o.

So guys a little rant.

I met someone today who owns a pretty famous detailing centre in islamabad. I’m an amateur detailer at best with only a few years of experience.
The guys claimed to know a lot about detailing as he was running such a successful big business with multiple cars ceramic coated everyday.

I decided to quiz him.
Guess what? He didn’t know jackshit.
Couldn’t differentiate between wax/sealant/polish.

Claimed usual glass coat vs ceramic coat bs which are just marketing tactics.
Didn’t really even know what orange peal was.
Instead of a clay lube, used a mpc for claying.

Reffered to iron contamination as rusting of body paint.

All he knew was use hard pad and compound to cut, medium cut pad to polish and then do one layed of ceramic coat.
I asked him if he did an ipa wipe before the coat. He asked me what that is?

Ffs he’s doing this for 10 years now.

It’s sad how people like us are scammed everyday by businesses being run by people.

Brother Ali Ahmad said it right. Ech2o is the best and most versatile product among your range. Buy a bottle of Ech2o and use it for different occasions
However, these all are just maintenance products you will have to apply wax again. So do get a wax too. But you don't need it monthly and for the first time you can wait a month or two just to manage your budget but don't delay Ech2o

Just wanted to say something here.
The beading is not a result of a washed painted surface. It's a result of protected paint.

Once the dirt gets washed away by rain water, a well protected painted surface will always come back to show some sort of beading behavior.

Well beading happens but has anybody noticed that kind of effect where water suddenly slips off the body and you dont see such beads.
I noticed this once when i washed my prev car, then redid with wash and wax, then applied polish and then again did a coat of wax, all in a single setting. Never did that again as it was too tiring and time consuming !!!
Because ultimately these beads dry, if you dont wipe em off, and leave spots and often dirt marks...

See this...water rolling off...this means that we are left with least amount of water...i can sheath this water with regular flow as well. When u spray waterless wash or wax over this area and then wipe off, cloth glides beautifully but u have to use the right cloth.

Got from Ahmed Bhai for 2200 when usd was 140 pkr. It doesn't scratch...and absorbs water without streaking.

I am experimenting with clothes actually and recently have been using this regular microfiber cloth by the name of spontex which i get from scotch brite and kitchen section of home stores...and to be honest it does a good job of buffing off wax, drying small areas and leaves a streak and swirl free surface. I already have a mf wash mitt...
But yes i do want to get those magnet type drying towels and these ultra plush mf clothes for wax/ polishing.

You use microfiber, but not all microfiber cloths are made equal. GSM, single pile/dual pile, edgeless, etc are some of the keywords to look out for.

If you have some time, read up about microfiber cloths, and perhaps watch a video or two. The Rag Company is a popular US brand, and they have tons of informative videos on YouTube.

Yep saw those dual pile and edgeless too somewhere but didnt pick them as i didnt knew jack about them...
