Dear Detailing Gurus.... I have some questions..
I have a Civic reborn with pearl black colour... It is 2009 model - recent purchase and was not taken care of very well by the previous owner aesthetically and not protected from elements very much (parked in sun too much).. So the problems,
- Dashboard is getting white/faded, + rear dash (plastic panel with the rear windscreen) is getting cracked..
- The outer plastic trims are all hard and almost brittle + their colour is faded to light grey now..
- Front windshield has wide wiper scratches like this http://cdn.metrotvnews.com/dynamic/content/2018/03/19/847197/okxqzjFcEd.jpg?w=650 ... They make night driving really difficult.
- One alto hit my car and caused some scratches on my alloy rims...
- The paint of car has circular scratches due to auto-car washes https://static1.squarespace.com/static/55821342e4b0d9710e45e01c/t/55a5cd80e4b086a3c2aa6df6/1436929408979/ , some deep scratches caused by cats showing white undercoating, and some fine scratches..
- The paint is very contaminated - perhaps not clayed ever in its life... Need scrubbing or claying desparately.
What are your suggestions? For dust repulsion + paint protection.
I have figured out these after some search, guide me if i am wrong. I dont want to end up wasting my money ...
1. 2. Meguiar’s Ultimate Protectant (Dash & Trim Restorer) – GEL -- For dash and trims...
3. Read somewhere that windshield need compounding. But I dont know should I get it done or not.... Or if yes, from where.... And will it worsen the windshield condition in the long run?
4. Not much important..
5. Confused as to what to do.... Scrubbing -> Either Klasse High Gloss sealant OR Diamond 9H Glass coating?
6. same as 5.
I am after this 'after' look.. https://autodetailingpro.ca/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/PAINT-PERFECTION-1000X700-1000x445.jpg
I am looking for longest life protection of the car. Read somewhere that 9h glass coating is also done on the windscreen and headlights and it make a hard shell on the car.... I want longest lasting protection with least maintenance... Just one wash per week at most... Not interested in gloss or reflections etc....
Please suggest me what should I do? I will apply glass coating myself because professionals are charging 30,000+ Rs (Rightfully so - but I do not want to spend that much if I can do it myself) ..
P.S. It is my daily drive, and plan on keeping it for 5 years inshaALLAH.... I am a student so my budget is limited...
@azfarnb : Sir I was reading your reply to a question similar to mine. what do you suggest for my car?
EDIT: Glass coating option look most attractive to me. because a hard shell protecting whole body (wind screens, headlights, body etc) will help with dash fading + headlight maintenance as well.. Dont know the pros and cons though of glass coating.
