Detailing is not only about the products. It's also about the process. How to use the products safely, not to compromise the paint, able to finish the paint properly without haze and holograms. Each car paint is different and hence a different process (pad, polish machine combination, number of passes, water spritzing or not, amount of polish, lots of variables) is needed. This comes with experience and knowledge. As Kevin brown says detailing is a craft and not an art. Craft involves knowledge and skill.
I can say without doubt that get half a car detailed (preferably a dark colored car) at low cost and the other half at a high cost detailing center (run by a detailer and not a buisness man). You will see and experience the difference.
