Detailing noob, worked on my car for the first time and expected to make a lot of mistakes which I expect you guys to correct me on.

I used:

Carpex Car Wash Shampoo
Kenco Wash Mit
Kenco Microfibre Cloths
Turtle?s Black Box

These are the results I got.

I still need to detail interior and engine, I have a few questions though..

What exactly is claying? I got Turtle rubbing compound is it the same thing?? I haven?t used it though.
The black box, I was giving around 30 seconds to 1 minute before I used the detailing spray to wipe the wax from Bottle labelled 1 and 2, Is that correct or do I need to wait longer / lesser?
Is it ok to just wash the car and not do the whole black box cycle every time? How often should we wax?

Claying is different process it isnt rubbing compound. Claying is like kneeding dough. Claying is done to remove above paint surface decontamination. These decontamination are hard to get rid off from a simple wash shampoos. Contaminations can be bugs tar road grime and previous wax layers. Claying makes surface smooth my remove any dirt sticking with paint. These days there is revolutionary autoscrub system works much better and faster than ordinary clay barring.

Rubbing compound is used to cut the clear coat to remove scratches and oxidization. Donot use that on your car for now.

For Engine detailing you will need a strong APC spray or Engine Degreaser Spray. Spray the Apc or Degreaser all over the engine then take a soft brissle brush and start to work on sprayed area then clean the engine with water. After drying the water use any kind of trim or vinyl dressing on it.

For interior if you are looking for a cheap solution just go and buy yourself a turtle Protectant. You may need carpet and upholstery cleaner too. If you have a leather interior you need a leather protectant

Just read the manual and follow it up. You will do right. No need to wax everyday wax once in a month then just wash the car every week buy yourself a detailer spray from turtle or meguire. Just spray and wipe with a clean microfiber towel everytime after washing. I wash once a week and then use a spray everyday. This is the outcome of 200rs spray.

One more thing. Never ever do dry dusting on your car. That will induce swirls and scratches and always wash mitt double bucket method.

Yes. Someone was telling me its ok to dry wipe with microfibre but i wouldn't risk it. I used a bucket with shampoo solution and water hose. Next time onwards ill use two buckets

Double bucket method is taking two buckets. One for shampoo and one for water. Take your washmitt and pour it in your shampoo bucket and apply on your car then dip the washmitt in the second bucket with water which will clean the it again pour the washmitt with shampoo and apply on your car then dip the mitt the water bucket to clean it
