Usman bhai there is a question.
For example when someone gets a bumper or a piece painted and the painter says "kal aa k compooooooooond krwa lena" what should a detailer do ? Is compound necessary or polish will work(at home not the painter's place) ? If polish then which one ? And can it be used with orbital or hands ?

Usman bro try a glaze or any good gloss.......you can try Turtles Crystal Hyper Polymer Glaze or Turtle Wax Platinum Series Extra Gloss, you have Mothers Glaze, an lastly Megs Mirror Glaze......

why not make another thread for that specific purpose, this one is so active that the image goes many pages back in a little time so not everyone sees it. in that manner even more responses can also be expected from those people who are not regulars in the detailing thread

Hassan if you really really pay attention, the ones that call you back for the cuttin an compounding are usually the painters working without booths....an heaters....so when they paint the part in an open atmosphere it collects very very tiny microscopic dust particles......they let you drive around for a day so the paint dries out completely......when you go in the next day they wet-sand that part lightly to remove all the dust and tiny particles the paint might have absorbed....as well as remove orange peel and other minor paint flaws, then compound it an wax it......and until you wetsand an compound that area, it just wont attain the desired finish.....polishing that part will do little good........even by orbital.......
An weve had the ICE discussion here as well, brother what the turtle wax people mean is for any normal detail you have to make sure the cars surface is cool to the touch, but with the ICE range you can actually just start on a warm car......it wont smudge onto the paint......though their blend of silicone and hydrocarbon polymers is reallly impressive stuff.......even a polish lasts waaaay longer than most waxes available. My coat of synthetic easily easily lasts two weeks in routine driving an parking in the sunlight.

What actually I wanted to ask about the ICE polish that polishes come abbrasive too so is this one of them ? As it is also called a Wax.

Stretch ur budget upto 3K, and get the following:
1. Turtle Wax ICE Synthetic Paste Polish. (Rs. 1300)
2. Turtle Wax ICE Shampoo (Rs. 950)
3. Turtle Wax Clear Vue Glass Cleaner (Rs. 350-400)
4. STP Son of a Gun. (Rs. 400)

Guys i dont know much about detailing, totally new interest. But i love my car so i do atleast something (being optimistic). Most people i know just wash the whole car with hair shampoo and wipe :S

I just use 3 sachets of pantene hair shampoo to wash my car,interior,tires.

Wipe it all dry

Then on the body and bumpers, Formula1 wax polish yellow jar (orig 1 not the one with blue text).

Then i do the glasses with Glint glass cleaner.

Then tires and interior (plastics and leather) with a spray named 7CT Q-care and sometimes 2 sachets of a local sachet of Luster if 7CT finished.

I get the cloth material on door panels/seats and floor mats and carpet cleaned by surf (aeriel and surf excel mixed with 5-7ml robin liquid bleach in water).

Rs3k sounds not bad for proper branded and car-specific products. I have just one question. Will the above mentioned products (in quote) cover all the surfaces i mentioned?

Hahaha. Sir thanks for the response. Just to give an idea the amount of time it takes (what i do) i would not want to buy everything and have no time to actually use. I would just go for the basic cleaning and applying/coating.

I just get weekends to work on the car and if i can spare some time from the car audio then only my car gets this treatment (usually once in 2 weeks).

Btw sir pantene doesnt grow hair, it washes only

Sir yeh aik controversial issue hai iss thread par, let me just give you a range for the prices, start at Rs.550 an go upto Rs.2800 from various people an dealers...

Do a little research lil bro, look at the views the thread gets an the next day same time, again look at the hits the thread has taken, subtract the previous value from the present one an you`ll have an idea of how many regulars we have here.......but hey, nice suggestion......lekin I think yahan hi theek hai !

washed with speed shampoo...dired with a MF.....applied turtle wax color magic red....gave 1hr to haze...took it of by sprinkling turtle wax platinum detail spray"better then meguiars" n MF.....simple as that
