a new entry in these things , i have been reading the thread for a couple of days , couldn't read all of it , but most of it .. i was not much interested in these things but after reading and seeing the pics, it really developed interest in me ..

I dont have much collection right now as i used to use only cosmic and a cloth to polish it , by the way i m from isb and have black cultus 2009 model ..

after reading posts of vague_one, ahmad_yar , Mistero and alot of pplz (sorry couldn't mention there names) motivated me very much, beside that Vauge_one really helped me alot regarding the products , a very nice guy with alot of knowledge and a helpful too ..

i would really appreciate ur suggestions and advices as i m newbie in this part of world

JazakAllah...yer more than welcome! All the members are worthy of praise beyond words my brother......well first advice, COSMIC CHOR DO AUR KAPRA BHI! Get a good mf (micro fibre cloth :P) an a goooood natural wax....rest start slow an steady, you wont learn everything in one session, but InshAllah with continous fine tuning from members....trust me, take pics now an some time down this detailing road.......you wont even recognize your own car!

al-right detailers, posting 2 snaps of the sheeting and beading on my cars after some thorough detailing sessions.
First off is my City. Washed with ICE Shampoo, followed by application of ICE Synthetic Paste and then Platinum's detailer was used to take off ICE. This pic was taken after driving on M-2 for 2.5hrs.
MashAllah, the reflections are simply awesome!

Now comes my Alto. Washed with ICE Shampoo, followed by application of Meg's GC and then Platinum's detailer was used to take off GC.
This pic was taken last night and the detailing session was done on last Wednesday. MashAllah!

Foam wash on Saturday eve...

Khurram had informed us on our mini GTG that itehad PSO has now got a foaming machine...so the plan was to try it out...

Plan was set between myself and Hakro to take the goth for an experimental foam wash on Sat eve...unfortunately Hakro had to go to work on Sat and got late and I had to reach the airport later on Sat night, so I decided to go alone as I couldn't wait till post maghrib for Hakro to reach defense.

Charges are PKR 300. I was over and done with in literaly 5 mins (have a non stop video to prove it).

Do take your extra MFs with you as they give the car a RAG massage after putting on the foam. Plus since it is a high pressure wash just patting it with a drying towel later on will not help...I suggest that a detailer or an APC spary should be kept handy to bling bling the car on spot.

I was just carrying my MF drying towel, so I just used that to quick dry the car on spot...much to the amusement of the workers...who I was surprised had knowledge on MFs and the drying towel...they were aware of the prices but were taken aback as to how quickly I dried the car singlehandedly without a single wipe.

I also got quite an audience, and I had people stopping by and inquiring about the MF towel....interesting...I got a bigger fanbase for my MF towel than the Goth

This is after drying...no extra wipe or product used...GC is still holding out pretty well...although despite some brilliant shine and awesome cleanliness...to me the car was giving a somewhat naked look...I think the foam just might have some wax de-layering properties...

Omar bhai....yeh batain, keh snow foam ko itself scrub kartay hain ? Phir yeh batain, keh shampoo separately karna chaiye keh nai ? Phir yeh batain, how long should you let the foam dwell on the car? Lastly what brand of foam did they use ? Or was it shampoo? Answer these an I think you`ll find out how the naked look came out.....another Eureka moment....you can do the "NANGA NACH" when you figure these things out!

The main idea behind the development of SNOW FOAM was to reduce / eliminate contact cleaning of the vehicle. As many detailers agrees to the fact that washing the car is the most difficult step when considering the facts that you can give scratches and swirls to your paint work.

2 Bucket approch is some how safe enough but still, precautions should be taken as much as possible and if required the rinse bucket should be clean again in the mid way of car wash.

Comming back to SNOW FOAM, a good quality snow foam wont require contact cleaning and also wont harm the waxes on the paint and it should be left over the vehicle for atleast atleast 5 - 10 minutes depending upon the condition of the car and after that it whould be rinsed away.

What does Snow Foam do is that it lifts the dust particles off the body and flows it down. You can practically see the dirt particle swimming down.

When it comes to the ROOF of the car, there is less downfall, but thats what the snow foam do, it lifts the particles up and when the car is rinsed, it it all clear so again no need of contact required.

Again, depending upom the condition of the vehicle, if you require shampoo can be applied after snow foam. It all depends how dirty you car was and something is left by snow foam.

Sirjee looks like I missed out on a goooooooodddd session...Hakro mashallah stands very high in my books as a detailer pur aap nay to uskee look bhee vakhri detailer walee banadee...style aur attitude...now this is like Amir's signature...you touch my car and you'll be waxed and buffed...ya habibi ya Hakro...wallah Kina tat bahasu azakaeya...

I on the other hand was on an extensive detailing mission on the Goth yesterday...

Started at 1:30 pm and ended at 9:30 pm...(with a 1.5 hour break in between due to the Sun hitting at the car)...

Started with a BIG Orange wipe down...as the car had been foam washed yesterday...Decision for future taken...shampoo should be on the same day as detail...

Then decided to pop my cherry with a cleaner wax...hmmm...which cleaner wax to use...since it was my first time...decided to use the most HULKA (in terms of brand) one from the arsenal...and out came the black box...read the instructions from the pack...it had this tissue paper kind of a polishing cloth (very much like the one time use Sonax polishing cloth that I use but a little thicker)...using it the Black Cleaner wax was applied panel by panel...

The instructions on the pack said that the product has to be dried and hazed but time was not mentioned...so I decided to take off the wax immediatly after applying to each panel...plus i noticed that the product was drying up very quickly during application...

So it was taken off side by side again as per instructions using the MF provided which was frequently moistened by the Black Detailer...

It was tough by the way...no problems faced but this cleaner wax was actually tough to put on and almost equally tough to take off...lot of pressure was required...it took me two and a half hours to finish this stage...

Got rid off most of the swirls like magic... it was amazing...but all the old kartoots were back staring in my face again...it gave me a good understanding of how deep it really cleanses and how deep some of the old foppas are...

Shine was brilliant...very clean feel to it...and the wetness was drool worthy...I did the whole thing very slowly...enjoying and savoring the session panel by panel...touching the paint and feeling the smoothness...comparing it with non detailed parts...it was quite fun....

The car was also buffed...at the same time...using a virgin MEGs SUPREME SHINE MF (yup another cherry popped)

Finished the wax cleaner bit by 4:40...the sun was hitting the car, so decided to take a break till the sun went down....

some swirls are there...but boy have they reduced dramtically....I am loving it...

This is the RAPED Application cloth which came with the black box...I wonder how am I supposed to reuse it....I would be very disappointed if the turtle guys gave an application cloth which was for one time application only...

6:15 pm I was back again....light was just pre-maghrib so I had no time to waste...now at this point you would expect me to take out the turtle Black Wax to complete the job....NOPES...I took out the 3M performance finish bottle instead...

3M was applied using a foam applicator this time...good even spread...had streaking initially while removing...had me worried for a bit...but then I remembered that Hakro had no problem while applying and removing it with a DA...AHA!!! that meant that I wasn't generating enough heat during application so it was drying quickly and neither was I generating enough heat while removing it...so the instructions on the bottle were read again...and sure enough I had missed out one line which said..."if product dries quickly and produces streaks remove with damp cloth"....EUREKA...the MF was then given quick squirtz of Armor all detailer and viola the removing problem was gone...

Did the whole car...again panel by panel...along with on spot buffing with the superme shine MF...however, after doing around 20% of the car...light was completely gone...and I had to do the whole car in almost zero light...

I thought about arranging some illumination equipment...but then decided to do the job relying on my instincts and feel only...it was an experience...it was like just me and the goth...she was speaking to me and letting me know if I am doing it right or not...if I have missed any spot or not...

In the night...I felt that I was doing a great job...the light glows were coming out fabulously and I fell in love with 3M all over again...this was my second application of 3M ever and I stand re-affirmed...this is by far, far superior then anything else I have used....

I got over with the application, taking off and buffing in two hours...around 8:20 pm...and spent the next hour in doing a very slow BLACK DETAILER wipe...

The night job...man while I was doing it with me being so close to it, in the dark...the black looked so haunting...it was as if the car would eat me up and trap me inside its paint ...

This is the pic taken at night...it is a bad pic as the ISO's of IPAD are pretty miserable but I swear guys...from this angle I felt as if the car had changed shape from the fenders and to me it was resembling a menacing version of the RX8...

Sorry no day time pics today...but checked the car this morning...

All I can say is...that I have conquered 3M application by HAND and that the lil communication and bond I had with the goth in the dark...actually was real...perfect application....wow I am stunned....

Bhai jan, jiss banday nai inspection karni haina, uss kay laiy aise hi tayari zaroori thi....remember yer about to meet the man who maintains a red lady.....an you do know what sort of feelings a red brings out in the detailer.....youve got work cut out to impress with black....am whats more, you are supposedly the Alpha detailer out of the lot appearing there....hakro, you an nomi....hayeeee!! though Im sure the regime will impress...an to top it off, night time detailing....brave step brother.....very brave.....an let me tell you if you pulled it off without a hitch....I`m the first to congratulate you for steppin up the detailing ladder an detailing by touch! The SwirlX is as good as new, still laying around. I tried doing it by hand, but it's too difficult and ineffective. For now, i make do with glaze to mask the swirls.
During spring break, definitely a swirlx session will b done, InshAllah!

Sir as per my understanding foaming has to be left on the car for about 4-5 minutes. It is a pre wash. It is supposed to loosen up the dirt and remove as much as it can. Depending on the foam n the ph values, a foam may be a de waxer or may be harmless to the wax coat. A post rinse however by hand is recommended.

If u see my video, foaming time was not given. Plus i believe their foam has de waxing properties and since it was not left for five minutes...it did not de wax completely...could be that is why they did not leave the foam on.

Im thinking on claying day ill get the snow wash n ask them to let the foam stay on for 5 minutes.

Can you tell me what car you have, then I recommend a better combination rather then telling you to get everything without knowing what your working on.

If it's a Lamborghini your dead lol, they have the hardest paint in history and it keeps on getting hard. I have a friend working on a Black Gallardo right now and everything he tried everything but it's taking to long

So I need the model year, make, model and colour

Was not kept with extra special care in its earlier days, even experienced a few dry rubs :P...but has been regularly waxed for the past year i wld say. The shine is fine but it has swirls especially on the horizontal surfaces...

Was not kept with extra special care in its earlier days, even experienced a few dry rubs :P...but has been regularly waxed for the past year i wld say. The shine is fine but it has swirls especially on the horizontal surfaces...
